Personally i think that trade is great for the Knicks. Chandler is a great defensive anchor who is clearly on the downside now but to get Calderon who is a great distributor and Shane Larkin who is a young project PG. Dalembert is a downgrade but he can protect the rim a bit.

if the intention is to build around Melo with other players and free up salary, the do it.
lets face it, the team around Melo didnt work so well.
even if it means a 3 team trade with Dalembert & Calderon by sending them somewhere else.

i am really interested to see how this really turns out though.

I'll never begrudge an athlete for getting every dollar he can. That's his right.

But Melo's on some bullshit talking about he'd take a paycut and then basically turning it back around like that. He should've just kept his damn mouth shut.

Im not even a knick fan like that but
Phil had to tell Anthony next year 1st rd playoff exit and he going to teach the triangle and look to 2015 for another top player when Stat and Barg come off the books. Tim Hardaway Jr and Deanthony are going to be more experienced. Plus IF Miami doesnt retain its big three. In 2015 rondo is a Fa , Deandre Jordan (dont think Clips can afford him, blake and Cp3), and I think Paul Milsap and Marc Gasol. Phil might think he can make play for one of them and compete in the east.

both but i hope its more of understanding their new roles in the Triangle offense.
problem is the triangle is letting your outside shooters get shots.
Melo has to learn that he isnt the main threat in running this offense
