Until they officially move I think it's gonna be tough. The prospect of playing a season in Newark (though the reverse commute from NYC isn't horrible I guess) would probably turn teams off.

The idea of Brooklyn is more real than actually being in Brooklyn. Until free agents can visit the arena and get a feel for the city, it's not gonna attract much love.

They'd be doubly fucked if both players decide to leave. GM/Coach/Staff/anyone in the organization would be let go if that happened. People are too content with their jobs.

The new Warriorr owners apparently grew hesitant of the Chris Paul deal and pulled out of it. They want to keep Curry out of the deal

The rumored new deal replaces Monta with Curry. The W's really want to keep Curry, and New Orleans really wants him. Could be a leverage deal by the warriors, that may change by Friday.

Here is an excerpt from a Curry interview tonight from the san fran chornicle via AP wire:

"With the latest round of NBA chatter surrounding the point guard, Curry said that he has been told by Warriors general manager Larry Riley and new coach Mark Jackson that he is "safe and secure" with the only franchise he has ever known"

Battier going to Miami is a really good signing, as he fits in perfectly with what they try to do....spot up shooter, defender, good locker room guy, etc. I'd expect him to be on the opposing teams best wing player.....freeing up Wade and James.

Give them a title right now. Eddy Curry is going to sign with the Heat.

Sounds like Boston is gaining momentum to get Paul now since they would not require any assurances that he stick around after this season.

They'd be willing to move Rondo, Jeff Green and 2 first round picks (LAC & BOS).

There was even a rumor of a 3 way with Indiana and NO which would send Rondo to IND with Collison going to NO.

Plus with KG and Allen coming off the books, they could make a run at Howard next year.

                    ----------

Oden signed a 1-year qualifying offer to stay with Portland for $8.9 million.

                      aw shit, here we go

Knicks "lead" the pursuit for Tyson Chandler. Two different scenarios are:

                      A) work out a sign and trade involving Billups

                      B) amnesty Billups ($17 mil this year) and trade Tauriaf somewhere

Lakers have the edge on Paul via 3 team trade involving Houston.

                        LA gets: G Chris Paul
                        HOU gets: F Pau Gasol
NO gets: F Luis Scola, G Kevin Martin, draft picks

                        Reportedly close to happening.

                        ------

Knicks are close to signing Chandler for 4-years & $58 million...likely using the amnesty clause on Billups.

If Baron Davis gets cut via amnesty, the Knick will be interested in bringing him on board, too.

Battier is a very underrated signing. They could use a great, versatile defender. And he can set up in the corner and be their version of Bruce Bowen. Exactly the type of signing they need. They have an over-abundance of flash and scoring, they need role players on the court and glue guys in the locker room. Battier is the best of both worlds.

Wait there's a third Gasol? I thought Pau and Marc were the only brothers. Damn. Some family.
