Chicago Bulls: Is Kyle Korver Getting a Free Pass?http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...ng-a-free-pass
This article is stupid, Korver is a 3pt specialist and 41% from 3 is perfectly fine. He's been in the league 8 years and he is what he is, if anyone in Chicago expected defense or dribble drive penetration or whatever they were given false information or just flat out had no idea what type of player Korver was.
Anyone who knows basketball knows his 53% from 3 in 09-10 was partly flukish and partly situational. He only attempted 110 threes all year in 09-10. Going into a season an expecting 45 or 50% from 3 from any player, even Ray Allen or Reggie Miller is ridiculous.
Korver plays 20 mins a game, hes a 3 pt specialist. Hes shooting above 40% from three thats all you can expect.Comment

That Blazers loss to the Jazz was a complete meltdown in the 4th. Wesley Matthews is killing the Blazers in games they need clutch. He was 0/5 from behind the arc and ended with a measly 6 points. Paying him too much for not nearly enough.I give rep not thanks

I disagree. The only real difference between the two is that Rose is asked to be somewhat of a distributor, while it was known AI was going to be a scorer. This caused AI to take more shots and more difficult shots, which is why his fg % is lower. In the end AI could have been every bit the PG Rose is. There is nothing wroing with being compared to AI. Rose is a scorer first, second and third.
Iverson and Rose are two different players. i guess there might be some similarities but overall......I don't see it.
Dantoni is a horrible coach and this season is just proving it more and more to me.
Watching this Knicks team with or without Melo is painful on the offensive end. The guard play is terrible and far too often Dantoni know sit and I think just tries to get ISO looks for Amare and Melo. it bogs down his entire system because Dantoni doesn't trust his PG's in any way shape or form.
Because teams still only have to respect one player on the floor really. Noah isn't a threat. Boozer isn't going to go by anyone. Hamilton is a catch and shoot guy, Korver is the same. Deng can't really go by anyone. The only person that can is Rose. As a result any Bulls opponet can over pursue on hhelp and close out harder on the other guys knowing they can't really go by anyone. Rip is really the only guy that is a threat off the bounce. Deng off the dribble is hilarious.Comment

Disagree completely. I love Iverson but comparing him and Rose is completely off base. Rose isn't nearly the scorer is, I think AI was the better shooter and Rose is much more willing to acclimate himself to team basketball and got 20/10 than Iverson was.

Their style of play is very similar. The only difference is in how they are used. AI was asked to be a scorer from the SG position, but he still got his assist, whereas Rose is asked to be a scorer from the PG position. They essentially have the same career assist average (6.8 for Rose/6.2 for AI). Neither is the dynamic passer that make their teammates any better. Their assist come in the flow of the both of them dominating the ball and drawing defenders. Both look to pass as a second option. Both take a high volume of shots and use their quickness and dribble drive to attack the rim. Yes, AI is a better shooter, but that doesn't mean they aren't similar. AI by a wide margin is better off the ball. Rose has the edge as a defender, but its not as if Rose is a great defender either.
I love Iverson. One of my favorite players ever but I don't see the Rose/Iverson comparison.Comment

Rose isn't Chris Paul but he's more of a true point than Iverson was. I can see Rose transitioning into a 20/10 distribution type if the talent around him dictates it. Iverson was never really that type of player. Iverson was a pure volume scorer. Rose I don't think is that or has a game that really translates to that. The assist numbers aside Rose is clearly the better and more willing passer given the chances.

If Rose gets a running mate I can see him bringing his assist numbers up a bit (as long as the teammate doesn’t dominate the ball himself), but he's still going to be a scorer first. This is just the way he always has been since he was in highschool….similar to Russell Westbrook. Rose doesn’t have the vision or anticipation of a LeBron James, Chris Paul or Deron Williams to be that type of passer. As I mentioned most of his assist come in the fact that he dominates the ball and draws defenders, which is okay, but he certainly is no elite passer.Comment

This is a fan base that literally doesn't stop criticizing Carlos Boozer for doing what he's always done in his career. ALL HE DOES IF FADEAWAY AND TAKE JUMP SHOTS! HE SUCKS AT DEFENSE!!! TOO MANY JUMP SHOTS!!!! It was more to take fans to task for continue to make excuses for Korver while crucifying Boozer.
I totally understand what Korver is. Right now he's 22nd in the league in 3 point percentage. For someone who only has 1 purpose and only takes 1 type of shot I'd expect a little bit more, but that's just me I guess.
It was more or less to also take him for task for his god awful defense which is pathetically bad. It's always been bad, but again if you lived in Chicago you'd understand the angle. Boozer is lazy when he sucks at defense, Korver is "just not that good at defense but he TRIES"... I think it's a horseshit premise so I took people to task for it.Comment
