I wouldn't be surprised if Sterling just transfers ownership to his "estranged" wife thus keeping it in the family.

Since she is already involved with the management of the team, having her be able to buy him out for half of the value of the team would be a nice divorce settlement for her. She could bring in Magic and his investment group as co-owners

I don't think anybody believes that she really feels that he isn't a racist. She is married to him, she's probably a racist too but she wasn't implicated and stands to profit when he is forced to sell the team.
