From what I've read the past 2 days, the SEC limit is 27 and we do in fact plan on using all 27 if it we get everyone we want. Still way too early to tell how it will all shake out.

Well restocking the DL is a big priority for LSU right now, so I'll take him. Glad Cal didn't feel like waiting on him, and he felt like waiting on us.

Mike Davis, a big-time WR out of Texas, switched his commit from LSU to Texas this week. We had kind of seen it coming for a few weeks, but it's a huge blow. He had been an early get from the Longhorn state and we were excited to have him.

Still have Justin Hunter coming in and stand a good chance at bringing in another WR (Jarrett Fobbs or James Wright) but I was pretty excited about Davis. Always good to get big time prospects from other states.

Which brings me to Spencer Ware, a 4 star ATH out of Ohio who is committed to the Tigers. Sportsbuck or any Ohio State fans, did the Buckeyes have any interest in this guy as a RB?

Since Weis was fired 5 star DE Chris Martin decommited but 4 star DT Louis Nix decommited from Miami and committed.

I cried a little when i heard the news about Chris.

I would imagine one of Kelly's first calls would be to Martin. Wouldn't surprise me if he comes back.

Ohio State had interest, but there was a conflict in recruiting an offensive lineman named Aaron Brown I believe (Part of VT's 2006 recruiting class IIRC), which ended up changing the way the OSU staff recruits players. Brown's father was the main reason for the conflict, and he is a father figure to Spencer so the Bucks never really had a chance in this one.

Spencer's a good kid though, and a great baseball player as well and I've talked to him a little bit since we both camped at UNC for football. I have concerns over whether he maxed out his frame but he is a great football player.

The Pitt Panthers picked up yet another verbal commitment this weekend from DeMatha Catholic High School offensive lineman Shane Johnson. Johnson, the nation’s No. 24 ranked offensive guard was not available for comment, but sources have confirmed that he’s in the bag.

Pitt is looking to have a pretty good recruiting class this year. Scout has them at 12th overall. Johnson is a big guy and I think will develop over time. Pitt also impressed Brandon Ifill a 3* Safety. Pitt has 23 commitments already and is looking to have a pretty good class even with the downfall over the last couple of weeks.

The main guys that I think will have a big impact from this class will be Anthony Gonzalez (4* QB), Andrew Carswell (4* WR that is 6'5 with decent speed), T.J. Clemmings (5* DE and the top prospect in this years class), and Aaron Donald (4* DT). Other guys that could develop are RB/LB Derrick Burns who was recruited as a RB and LB but will probably play LB. Has good speed and his brother Chris is on the team.

                    The class has 15 3 Stars, 4 - 4 Stars, and 1 5 Star so far.

Good. Mizzou is my favorite team in the Big 12. Glad to see they haven't given up after losing Chase Daniel.

What sites do you guys use for your info? rivals limits what you can see unless you start paying.

And Wisconsin never seems to have a top draft class.

Not too worried about the decommittment. We still have four-stars C.J. Olaniyan and Dakota Royer as defensive end commits.

Justin Hunter committed to LSU last spring, has de-committed and is headed to Tennessee. This decision was influenced by his desire to compete on the track team. Derek Dooley must be doing something right as well.

This is my first time hearing this, fuck. I take a week off of recruiting and this is what I get? Hunter was my favorite prospect, 6'4 with track speed.

Interesting that he chose Tennessee over LSU for track purposes as our track program is one of the nation's best....oh well.

Edit- apparently the asst. coach at Tennessee assigned to his recruitment has taken a job at USC so he's reopened his options, and LSU is still in the running. We've since added 2-3 WR targets so who knows if we still are serious about him or vice versa. Gonna come down to NSD I'd think.
