I'm still in utter shock about this. First time I've cried over a celebrity/athlete dying since Darryl Kile died while pitching for the Cardinals. He was an outstanding player, a true warrior, and despite what allegedly went on between him and this other woman, was a great man off the field. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers Steve and you will forever be missed.

Still could have been the ex-boyfriend of the girl catching them off guard and making it look like a murder suicide but that is probably not as likely.Comment

Let's not go that far.
He was an above average player, who generally put up slightly above average numbers. He never won a championship, was constantly injured, never led the league in any of the big categories (yards, TD's, rating, completion percentage)...
There was also a stretch of his career where the Titans has a better record in games started by Billy Volek and Neil O'Donnell. The offense would frequently perform much better when the "warrior" would sit a few out with his various ailments.
I'm trying to shit on the dead, but it's pretty irritating hearing people call him a HOF'er and one of the best ever. No.Comment

well MJ was always called one the greatest preformer's/singer's by the old school guy, even when he was playing hide the salami with the toddlers. aftre he died though, the media did fail to mention he out of court settlements to the kids parents.
as for McNair, i dont know if he was a lock for the HoF before he died as i dont know his stats off teh top of my head, but he was a top tier QB for a long time.

He threw for over 30000 yards and ran for over 3000 yards in his career. The others that have done that are Steve Young and Fran Tarkenton, and guess where they are? Hall of Fame. Add the fact that he played in a Super Bowl and{b] won a MVP[/b], and he's in. Not first ballot obviously, but he'll be in.
He was a good player, nothing more. He's not a HOF caliber QB.
As for the bold, he stole and MVP. He "shared" it with Manning, who had better numbers across the board, and who's team finished ahead of McNair's in the standings, and beat beat McNair head to head twice that season. McNair's co-MVP was a lifetime acheivement award from the writers, who clearly liked him and couldn't wait to give him one the first chance they had. Manning got screwed.Comment
