For those of you that are clueless, didn't watch the game, didn't notice Orton moving up and down the field at will, and actually think preseason games are meaningful, he did some really good things, he just made 3 incredibly bad decisions.
Considering McDaniels turned Cassel from a laughing stock into a better QB than Cutler by the time the season ended, he's well ahead of the curb with Orton.
Guess what, those 3 incredibly bad decisions mean the other team gets the ball and in a real game that is meaningful.Comment

Jay Cutler is one of the most overrated qb's in the league. Big arm, small brain. So, metaphorically speaking, our physiology basically has the universe mapped out and you're thinking it needs to be taught addition & subtraction.

lol this thread was made because of Orton's performance in a preseason game. wtf. We've been using "3 series preseason games" since the very first post.Last edited by Bear Pand; 08-16-2009, 12:00 PM.Comment

Thanks for arguing my exact point, but it isn't really necessry.
You said he was moving the offense up and down at will.. and only made 3 bad decisions in games that don't even matter.
Then you go on to say that McDaniels is ahead of the curve with Orton compared to where he was with Cassel last year... yeah sounds exactly like what you said.
This has broiled down to a BS argument over semantics so I'm just going to say that Denver won't be anywhere near the playoffs any time soon with Kyle Orton as their QB.Comment

It doesn't matter though, Cutlers not as good as Bears fans think he is and it's gonna be fun watching you guys get their hopes up for nothing. Laugh at Orton all you want but his season is ending the same way Cutlers is...ringlesssssss.Last edited by Bear Pand; 08-16-2009, 06:41 PM.Comment

I think this could be a trade in which no team benefits. Denver lost their good QB, and got a garbage QB in return. Chicago imported a good QB but have no WRs to throw to. By no WRs, I mean Chicago has the worst WRs in the entire NFL, and its not even close.Comment

Difference is 1.8 make a thread when Orton has a terrible game, make excuses when Cutler does the same thing. If you wanna ignore that Cutler played bad yesterday because he usually plays good in the regular season, and preseason is meaningless, fine...just don't call other QBs terrible for playing bad in the preseason.

Again, im calling Kyle Orton terrible because he is. Ive LIVED Kyle Orton.. not drunken Purdue Kyle Orton that you lived.. those were good times. NFL Version of Kyle Orton is straight up bad. If you want to call Cutler bad because he also played terrible in a pre-season game, so be it.. but in all actuality Cutler is good, and Orton is still terrible. This is how it is Panda, I know it hurts the heart, but its the truth.
I wish Kyle the best.. hes a very likeable guy and I always wanted him to succeed for us, and to his credit he was the QB of a couple good Bears teams. He has chances to succeed in Denver because of the weapons he was be equipped with, but at the end of the day, he'll still be terrible.Comment

Disagree. Orton could be worse with Denver, because he might be expected to complete passes to his WRs.

I do agree with the first part tho, Orton should be expected to do better in Denver than Chicago, and theres a good chance he wont. So in actuality if he doesnt progress at all, he is doing worse in Denver than Chicago.Comment
