Giants have allowed players to enter the building and use the weight room and speak with coaches.

Only players I read who showed were Manningham, Canty and Jacobs.

Ramses Barden tweets about the Lakers/Hornets game:

@RamsesNYG: These fools are playin' hard. Reminds me of early 90's basketball. #NBAFinals
        Terrell Thomas responds:

Who knows what the draft board looks like at 19, but OT Nate Solder is picking up a lot of steam to the Giants.

Question then becomes if Pouncey is still on the board, who do they like better? I imagine they'd take Pouncey, but Solder may be option #2.

                  Mike Garafolo
Reese wouldn't say how much separation there was between Prince and the next cluster but Coughlin indicated it was a big spread. #nyg

THRILLED with the pick. #2 corner in the draft falls right into their lap and they don't miss a beat. It sounds like they wanted Pouncey---->Solder------>Ingram. With the first two gone, they probably would have been fine taking Ingram but to their surprise, Amukamara was still on the board.

Reasons he may have fallen include concerns about his personality in the locker room and he may not have the best ball skills. He is known as a great press corner.

Having him, assume he'll start out as the nickle corner and could swap with Terrell Thomas to become the #2 guy.

Deon Grant won't be forced to play nickle and we won't have to rely on Aaron Ross to be anything more than a guy in dime formations and to occasionally spell one of the other guys.

Giants used plenty of formations with lots of DBs on the field so it's a great move.

Reese saw the BPA on the board and snatched him. Love it.

                    -------

                    ESPN take on Prince...

What he brings: Amukamara is the most instinctive corner in this year's class. He has above-average recognition and route-anticipation skills, and is also light on his feet and changes directions quickly. He is also above-average when setting the edge in run support. He has shorter arms and that can be a problem against bigger receivers, and at times he will lose momentum when making sudden, 180-degree turns.

How he fits: This is a thinking man's defense, especially in the secondary where the Giants like to play a variety of packages and pressures. A year ago, the Giants were forced to play a lot of three-safety packages, but this pick alleviates that problem. Amukamara joins Corey Webster, Terrell Thomas and nickel back Aaron Ross, who struggles to stay healthy, and now the Giants have three guys who can play on an island to help their exotic pass rush. This really gives the Giants a lot of versatility.

Definitely OL. I'm hoping Ijalana is there for us but I doubt he is. We need to address the OL.

Any LB in the 2nd I'm not sold on (figuring Houston, Ayers and Wilson are gone by our pick).

                            Prince's Q and A after the draft

He seems like a nice kid. He seems a bit retarded, he was probably super nervous.

Heard on Boomer and Craig that he scored a 35 on the wonderlic. Did some research and came upon this:

Amukamara, who registered the top score for a cornerback, improved by 21 points from the 14 he recorded last fall, and teams that have interviewed him have said the 14 score is a closer indicator of his intelligence.
..... So I guess that would mean the Wonderlic is a flawed test..

                                My 2nd Round Wishlist….

                                1. DE Da'Quan Bowers -- awesome value
                                2. T/G Ben Ijalana -- need
                                3. DT Stephen Paea -- not only great value but need
                                4. C/G Rodney Hudson - need
                                5. LB Dontay Moch -- explosive athlete, more of a 3-4 OLB, but Giants need a player like him
                                6. WR Jerrel Jernigan -- reports say Giants like him and although this would mean avoiding a BIG need, he could be the big return man
