I called it, said they will be one dimensional and he would have to pass 40+ times and kill it, also said he wouldnt. Defense was just too good. Doesnt change my opinion of him being the greatest, they lost as a team. Only 1 turnover was his fault, the team as a whole was horrible.

Earl Morrall twice. Craig Morton's win with the Cowboys. Jaworski. Joe Capp. All far , far worse than Peyton tonight. I'll just stop now.

        Both Tarkenton games, too.

Tons of truly awful games in the Super Bowl, this wasn't close to the bottom.

EDIT - I mean VII & VIII, forgot he was XI and that wasn't that bad of a game but probably worse than Manning too.

But those weren't the final stats. It's easy to pin the blame on Manning for this loss, but as Manning chokes go (and I've seen them all), this one is the least of the bad. Seattle was clearly the better team from the start. There was no choke here. Seattle was clearly the better team and showed that. A couple of Manning's Colts' chokes ... maybe, just maybe, the Colts were a better team ... but there was no doubt Sunday night, Seattle was clearly the better team. It didn't matter who was QB for Denver Sunday. I defy you to pick a QB from today's league who would have QBed Denver to a Super Bowl vs. Seattle.

Lol @ average game, just stop looking at the stats, I won't say it is one of the ten worst but the first half and most of the 3rd was bad enough the game was over, grabbing some STATS at the end doesn't make it any better, he was bad

Didnt we just watch Peyton Manning have one of the greatest regular seasons of all time?

Just curious, Rob. What current NFL QB playing for the Broncos Sunday night beats that Seattle team?

He played a perfectly average game. One horrendous pick, a couple of inaccurate throws when the game was already in hand.

"Historically bad" is way over doing it, and not even close to bottom 10. Elway had three games worse than that alone. Tony Eason. Big Ben in the first Steelers win. Craig Morton. David Woodley. That's seven off the top of my head that you didn't mention that qualify as "historically bad" and way, way worse than Manning tonight.
By the time it was 38-0, Peyton Manning was 24-33, 184 yards, 0 TDs, and 2 turnovers. 5 drives of three-n-out or worse. The last 17 minutes of the game (ultimate garbage time)...10/16, 96 yards, a touchdown and another turnover.

                Stop it.

                STATZ.

                  Larry on point

When the game was actually a game Peyton was awful, his only good drive ended in a pick six I believe, he was bad

Only good drive? You obviously weren't paying attention.

Even at your arbitrary cut off point, he was mediocre. After the first couple of drives, he was just that for the rest of the game...mediocre. Not great, not terrible. They had drives where they moved the ball but didn't score, and that's the difference between a good game and an average one.

There was no garbage time in that game until after Denver scored, unless you want to tell me Seattle didn't want the shutout.

His game would probably fall in the lower middle if you charted the SB starters. Not even close to bottom ten.

Since no QB is capable of being Seattle might as well blame it on Welker now 0-3 in SuperBowls.

I am not a Sabermetrics nerd, though I believe statistical analysis shouldn't be overlooked. I am just saying your "I watched that game and Peyton Manning sucks and clearly didn't have 55 passing TDs bias is as biased as someone saying strict statistical analysis is 100% correct."

There were numerous drives in the first half and before they scored during the second half where they moved the ball but failed to score.
