Enough is enough. Peyton Manning is the greatest QB of all time.

First of all, this is not a rip Tom Brady thread, nor is it a Peyton vs. Brady thread, even though it will definately turn into one. Tom Brady is a fine football player, that is not up for debate. But he isnt Peyton Manning, and quite frankly, nobody is.

I'm not going to post a bunch of stats, either. But i'm sure someone else will. Mannings numbers obviously stack up with anyone, and when he retires, he may end up the leader in all of the significant categories.

    Just watch him play....

Peyton Manning has a command over the game that nobody else has ever had. Not Montana, not Elway, not Marino, not Brady. He controls the pace of the game from behind center, in a way nobody else can or ever has. I've watched Colts games where Manning intentionally stalled drives, because he knew his defense was suspect. He's good enough to know that he will score, so he can dictate when he scores. It's an amazing thing to watch.

As far as mechanics go, he's the best. Pinpoint accuracy, great footwork, and he can make any throw.

He's one of the smartest players to ever take the field. He calls his own plays, seemingly always calls the right audible, and he never burns TO's or makes mental errors.

He never gets hurt, either. Not even banged up.

He's reached the Michael Jordan level, where you could resonably give him the MVP every single year. Some of his teams have been very suspect over the years. The Colts seemingly are never able to stop the run, and have years where they can't run the ball at all. They had a K for years who always missed the big kick. It's not hard to imagine the Colts being a 5 or 6 win team certain years, had they not had Manning.

There are good QB's, and there are great QB's, and then you have Peyton Manning. He's one of the 10 best football players ever, appreciate the fact you get to watch him.

If he has a career ending injury today, you still think he's top 10?

I will withhold saying he's the GOAT right now. But will agree on everything else you wrote.

He's a special special player.. it's amazing the slightest twitch by a defensive player will result in Peyton switching the play and burning a defense almost.. well everytime.

Seattle went to a silent defensive count to try and not tip off Manning and he still read what we were doing.. granted the Seahawks D will never be confused for a top flight unit, but it still speaks volumes just how smart he is.

Top 10 what? QB? Wihout question, I think he's the best.

Top 10 football player? Without question.

If I get one player, ever, to start a team with, I'd probably take Manning. Most important position on the field, and the best player at that position i've ever seen. The guy is a machine.

I'm too young to have really appreciated a lot of the other great QBs, but Mannings easily the best I've seen play.

I thought it was hilarious yesterday when I heard Manning has to invite a receiver to be there for pre-game warm-up. He can't just show up. Reggie Wayne used to watch Manning and Harrison because Wayne wasn't invited... lmao.

As far as being the best ever, you could make a strong case for him. A lot of people did a few things better than him, but pound for pound, he's definitely one of the best if not the best.

Honestly, that caption couldn't be more appropriate.

I absolutely agree. I've said since 2004 (was that the 49 TD, 3x 1000 year?) that Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback of all time. There is no one else that plays like him or sees the game the way he does. He is really, really special and he continues to cement himself to this day. I still think we have yet to see the best years from Peyton and this year certainly looks to be another memorable season. I do believe he is of MJ status in the NFL in terms of being the most valuable player every single year.

He's probably the best QB most of us have ever seen play live, and will almost certainly be the greatest QB ever when he retires, if he's not already. I agree 100% with W2B, we should all feel privileged to be able to watch him play.

Us Colts fans are really lucky to have him as a QB...I can't even imagine the Colts without him being there (kinda like when Reggie Miller left the Pacers).

And although I'm heavily biased I definitely agree with WTB. The accuracy has always been there, but its unbelievable this year, the only bad throw I've seen from him all year was the first drive of the season where he threw the interception in the endzone.

                        Not much of a stretch.

Noone I recall has ever had a command of his team ,playcalling ,and offense the way Manning has.

I do feel that the insane protective rules cheapen every QB this era.
Nothing would change under the old rules other than slighty less gaudy stats. But its enough that I have to hold it against him that Montana was flawless , and Brady had an all time season very soon after Manning has his.

Im not sure what my top3-5 would look like If i sat and crunched it out....but Manning easily get the nod over Marino , Favre , Elway , Brady in my eyes.
Best reason to have a license.

The people who are truly privileged are the receivers who get to catch passes from him.
