Not trying to take anything away from Manning, but he picked a damn good year to be away from the game.
With Houston twice, Pittsburgh, New England, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Atlanta and Baltimore on the schedule, it would have been a tough year for Manning to make much of anything with the current roster.
The team hasn't had a good draft in a while, and their lack of talent is starting to show. Bring in a half drunk Kerry Collins, and when the Colts go 2-14/3-13 fans can pretend like Manning would've made them 12-4 and cement him as the #1 QB of all-time without even playing.Comment

And Peyton Manning would have creamed the Browns. No doubt. It's just aggravating to watch this offense only put up field goals. And I'm not even a Colts fan. This was the 3rd or 4th best offensive team in football and now, they're the worst. So, no, they probably wouldn't have gone 12-4, but with Peyton, they win the division and have a double digit win season 10-6/11-5 and that's FAR better than what they have now.

When was the last time the Colts had an easy schedule with Manning at QB? Why would it all of a sudden change when he gets unexpectedly sidelined?
Why do you have Houson on there at all? That's two games they play every season saying he picked a "good season" to miss and then starting the list with a team they play twice every season makes no sense. Especially in regards to a team Manning usually handles rather easily. It'd be like Aaron Rodgers going down and saying he chose a good year to get hurt because the Packers play the Bears twice this season.

I agree with the bump, how else would we be certain that Manning is the greatest regular season QB of all time? I'd still take 2-3 QBs over him in the playoffs, though.Comment

It's amazing to me that an average QB like Manning was just lucky enough to be blessed with all star WRs every one of his 15 seasons at the position. Unlike the other QBs in the NFL, who all somehow manage to win games with undrafted bums at WR.Comment

Peyton Manning is the greatest regular season quarterback of all time. And he will cement his legacy as not the greatest post season quarterback of all time when Cincinatti rolls into Denver and holds them to 24 points in a few weeks.
Regular season Manning > cold weather, choke in the playoffs ManningComment
