Enough is enough. Peyton Manning is the greatest QB of all time.

-Eli has never finished top ten in QB rating
-Eli has finished top ten in completion percentage one time (9th)
-Eli has never finished top three in yards or TD's
-Again, Eli has never led the league in anything aside from INT's
He's not a great player. He's barely an average one. The one, and only, HOF worthy credential he has is two SB's. He is Exhibit A of why Super Bowl rings are an overrated measure. There is nothing else HOF worthy about him.Comment

2x Super Bowl MVP
Will finish his career somewhere in the Top 7 in All-Time passing yards and passing touchdowns.
8-3 in the playoffs, Top 10 Passer Rating in the Playoffs.
Like I said, if he isn't in the Hall of Fame, he'll be the most accomplished QB not in the Hall of Fame, perhaps one of the most accomplished players in the history of the league not in the Hall of Fame.Comment

Rings is all you have.Comment

If you think Manning is a hall of famer, you better think Jim Plunkett is. Basically mirror images statistically, both have two MAGIC RINGZ.Comment

how exactly do those retard numbers you posted put anything into context? are you really saying he has 101 yards per pass attempt? that would be like 3000 yards per game. and a 97% completion %....for someone who is arguing that manning isnt a HOF why would you say he has a 97% completion %?Comment

You are overthinking it. How many Hall of Fame voters use adjusted numbers? Barely any. Regular season career numbers will be there to check off the boxes. He has the #ringz (fight it all you want, its a huge factor). Big time playoff performer. He's been playing with house money since he won his second Super Bowl...anything else is just icing on the cake.Comment

i guess throwing for 3500 yards per season doesnt count. or all his clutch performances and throws in bigtime games. going to the playoffs 5 out of 10 years and winning 2 SB's means nothing.
you can have your opinions, but having this discussion with you is just moronic because you dont even make a single valid point to support your opinion. All you do is run your mouth about what you think matters. and how it should be your way, like you have some say so in the process for which a HOFer is determined. but you dont and you dont make any good arguments to support your opinion.Comment

When players like Curtis Martin, Isaac Bruce (eventually), and Art Monk are in the Hall of Fame, compilers are fair game for the Hall of Fame.

His "monster numbers" aren't monster at all. They are average compared to the people he is playing against. Across the board. Even the areas he excels, like yards & TD's, he barely ever finishes Top 5. Never Top 3. Never leads the league.Comment

Plunkett's career was marred by injury. After 75, he only played one full season. Plunkett got his #2ringz on the tail end of his career. Not in the prime of his career, winning them against one of the GOATs. You've lost common sense when you say Eli and Plunkett are "basically mirror images"...outside of the #ringz, there is no comparison.Comment

I also made a very long, very well thought out & researched post supporting my opinion.
Let's try this again: http://www.virtualsportsnetwork.com/...=1#post2361029
Winning 2 SB's doesn't mean "nothing", but it's not enough when overall he just isn't very good. Like Jim Plunkett, who I would argue was no worse than Manning and stacks up very well.
I'd post the stats, but you wouldn't understand them.Comment
