Is this comment foreal or what? You are pure hypocrite.. where was this Cutler/Grossman comparison when he was QBing your team. VSN.. where homerism and hate lives.

I promise you the Bears and Cutler will have a "winning" season this year.. if you consider "winning" above .500, he wont have a problem doing that. The reality is football is a game of breaks.. minus a couple bad ones and we're 5-0. Shit happens and we're 3-2.. we're not even 3 quarters of the way thru.. im not at all worried. Ive said it all year and before, im happy for Kyle Orton. I love Orton as a human being.. I still think he is more of a game manager then a guy whos going to will his team to a win, and that is fine because its always worked for him. I just dont understand why if the Broncos thought they'd be good anyways, act like they won the Super Bowl every week.. and act like Jay Cutler's play has any effect on their team anymore, or act as if Cutler hasnt been doing his part. Its all foolishness...

Don't forget that the Bears also received Johnny Knox in that Cutler trade using the 5th rounder Denver sent us.

Cutler shouldn't have made the probowl last year, Rivers was robbed.

Yes both teams got what they wanted, but Denver made out better. Anytime you receiver two first round picks you usually end up on the winning side. Denver also got lucky that Orton has excelled so far in McDaniel's offense and now they might not need to spend one of those first round picks next year on a quarterback like some thought they might.

yea i really like Alphonso Smith, and for a first? i guess he is the future, and that pick isnt looking that great at 6-0

i wonder if its the Billups affect, drafting the future replacement of one of the greatest players on your team

And Glen, don't forget we were able to trade one of our first round picks next year to move up for Alphonso Smith this year.
Orton pretty much fell in his lap. There was talks of him having to compete to start before camp, so it'd be pretty ridiculous to think McDaniels hand picked Orton out of the bunch. When Cutler was going to Chicago, McDaniels obviously wanted a QB to compete and replace Cutler.. Orton was the option. McDaniels has done a good job with him but he wasnt "hand picked" by any means at all. Matt Cassell was "hand picked", it just didnt work out for McD.

Yeah, I'm not understanding this hand picked thing? How can you be hand picked when it was well-publicized that he was going after Cassell and the only reason they really got Orton was because Cutler demanded a trade out of town.

How the hell is that hand picked?

When McD came to Denver, he probably was like, "Sweet, i got Cutler" then he heard about trade rumors involving Cassel, he probably thought teaching Cutler all his tricks would be harder to teach him when he knew Cassel in NE, when this came out, the media blew it out of proportion, Cutler didnt like the idea of being traded to the Chiefs or traded in general so he asked for a trade, ironic huh? Bears come along, offer Orton and 2/3 ? future picks for Cutler, McD thinks this is the best offer and pulls the trigger, and again, media blows it out of proportion.

McD also asked Cutler to calm down a little and be less of a gunslinger in a meeting and according to ESPN , Cutler just blew up about the idea of a first year coach telling him what to do .

Cutler has all the talent in the world but his mind doesn't seem to be there yet . Maybe with some time and a better O/C he will live up to his true potential
