I dont think signing a big FA will make us great. It will help, but we will still be bad next year. We have nothing to look forward to in the Draft, unless we trade something for picks. So FA is our best bet in the first step to rebuild.

What makes any of us think the Bears are going to outbid anybody for any top free agents this year? Thats what I'm mostly trying to say.

-Not re-signing Berrian.

-Bringing back Ron Turner, who already failed.

Turner had a good season last year but this year has been awful. I don't think Turner is the main problem this season but he is below average and needs to go.

-Letting Ron Rivera go.

No choice there. Lovie and Ron couldn't stand each other. Lovie wanted Ron gone and if Lovie was there Ron wanted to leave. They signed Lovie to that long extension after the Super Bowl and gave him the keys to the kingdom. Ron was Lovie's call, not Jerry's.

-Signing Pace and Omiyale.

A for effort...F for execution.

-Not attempting to sign Housh.

-Michael Haynes.

None of these were Angelo draft picks. Jauron was the coach and had complete control of player personnel matters until he was fired after the 2003 season.

Granted JA has tons of busts and bad picks to his name but at least pick ones that he was actually responsible for.

-Trading Chris Harris , because we have too many Safetys.

Chris Harris is a marginal player. Sure I'd like to have him around but I'm not mad we don't.

I hated the Omiyale move the day we signed him. Let's bring in someone to play guard who has never played Gaurd in the NFL before. And expect him to help this oline. Why dont they throw that money at me then?

Honestly until the Pace/Schaffer signing Omiyale probably would have played a tackle position. Moving him to guard is retarded though.

I agree. Except for the Bold.. I thought Harris was the most underrated player on that SB team. The kid can play. He's led the league in forced Fumbles, 2 years in a row. Would love to have him now.

The thing is though we need more help with the pass game from the safeties. We need guys who can cover. Harris couldn't. If we had a good cover guy at safety I'd feel perfectly fine with Payne or Afalava playing up in the box.
