Did Manning re-open the MVP discussion today?

Was pulling the starters the main reason for the loss or did the Colts just come out flat? Peyton could have just as easily been sacked and coughed up the fumble for the TD by the #1 ranked Jets defense. It's not like the Colts were doing themselves any favors before pulling Manning and some of the other starters. Looking at the stat line, it is obvious that Manning was having his worst game of the year before being pulled halfway through the 3rd quarter.
Peter King may be an idiot in your opinion but he is an idiot with an MVP vote.
Colts with Manning - 15-10.
Colts without Manning - 0-14.
Capiche?
It's kind of pathetic your making up fantasy stuff to back up your arguement about a game you didn't watch. How about this - Manning could've stayed out there and thrown 6 touchdowns in the 4th quarter. It didn't happen, but it could've happened. Therefore, we should just act like it did.Last edited by citizenerased; 12-28-2009, 04:39 PM.Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your ChairComment

Absolutely not. Stop twisting what I'm saying. The point was to say that Revis didn't shutdown Wayne.
I love how you continue to say how much of a pedestrian game Manning had when you didn't even watch the game. Throwing for 14/21 and nearly 200 with no turnovers (when your last snap of the game is at the 10 minute mark in the third quarter) is not pedestrian.

I don't know where you are getting that I didn't watch the game, I watched most of the game but had flipped over to the RedZone channel when Manning got pulled and flipped back as soon as Painter gave up the TD on the fumble.Comment

I'm not twisting what you are saying. You are saying that Manning was missing open receivers as a contributing factor to why Wayne was not shutdown, ergo a pedestrian performance on Manning's behalf as judged by myself, Peter King, other members of the national media and your own statements. Who cares if he didn't have any turnovers? He didn't have any TD passes either and was trailing a .500 team at home in the 3rd quarter.

Everything you've said points to you making claims off of reading boxscores/only watching highlights/or actually copy and pasting what some analyst said.
Why should anyone believe you watched the game when you said the Colts were up 18-15 (Didn't happen) then admitted you got that from reading a USA Today recap.Comment

Second of all, and this will prove my point that I'll make about the bottom quote, the score was 15-10 in favor of the Colts after Peyton's last snap of the game. In fact, when the Jets scored on special teams, he immediately went down the field and drove them to TD drive. And so what if he didn't get a TD pass? He got them six on the board twice by putting them in position to score, which is more important.

I want you to close your eyes and envision Brett Favre trailing at home in the 3rd quarter to a .500 team. During his 2.5 quarters of play, he misses several open receivers and has no TD passes before completing a couple of passes to get the team in position for a rushing TD before getting pulled by the coach in favor of his backup. The Vikings go on to lose the game.
Now open your eyes and realize that it was Peyton Manning.
I have enjoyed busting you Manning nuthugger's balls when you can't even admit the guy had an off day. You guys are worse than Favre nuthugger's :laugh:Comment

I enjoy you Favre nuthuggers too .... trying to find something , no matter how small , no matter how many things you have to make up (like saying he was down when he came out) just to try and possibly make it sound like Favre is the MVP
I'm done with this thread and should have been when I realized you didn't even watch most of the gameComment

At least his game wasn't pedestrian like Manning's at 26/40 for 321 yards, 2 TD's and 0 INTs with a 106.3 QB rating. Maybe if Favre played defense the Bears wouldn't have hung 36 points on them or if he was the RB he wouldn't fumble on a key first down that would have moved the chains in OT.Comment
