Bart Starr was great and highly underrated, but I think a point in Favre's favor is that he played QB in an era when the QB was by far the most important player on the field. Favre threw the ball 34 times a game and accounted for about 28 TDs per year. Starr threw the ball about 20 times a game and accounted for about 12 TDs per year.Comment

Also, the last two SB years, the GB running game was less effective and more of the offensive burden fell on Starr and the passing game, during a time when it was much more difficult for a team to be successful passing.
Here is how I break it down:
Favre's style of play is much more successful in the regular season. With the gunslinger style, you can have critical mistakes in a game and still have a very good season record. Not as successful in the playoffs where one loss and you are out. A QB can't make those critical mistakes in the playoffs.
SO....
Favre >>> Starr Regular Season
Starr >>>>>>> Favre Playoffs
So, to me, Starr >>> FavreComment

Senser, I'm looking more at Playoff games and not regular season. Go look at Starr's number's in the Playoff's (Clutch Games) and compare them to Favre's. It's not even close.

Read this: http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2...rception-myth/
Bart Starr had a 1.1 158 TD's and 138 INT
Brett Favre had a 1.57 with 497 TD and 316 INT
Also Brett Favre played in a era where passing was the way. Which equals more attempts, which ultimately leads to more interceptions one way or another.
Bart Starr had those numbers throwing 20 times a game where Favre had those numbers throwing 30+ yards a game.
Also when your in a game long enough your ratios tend to get worse as it balances out.

Pretty sure Bart Starr has twice as many rings as Favre. He also won 3 other pre-Superbowl NFL Championships. Favre may have the records and the better stats, but Starr was a fucking winner.Comment

Lol. You need to get to the playoffs first. When you refer to Favres critical errors you mean his interceptions right?

I'm not saying Starr is better than Favre, but the old QBs had it way worse than today's QBs do.My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000
