Regardless of what the staff decided, from the returns he did see, he didn't do shit lol.

Either way Hester is a project and will remain that way. Hopefully Martz can help him grow a little bit. I don't give a shit if he doesn't see a lick of playing time on offense as long as his return efficiency comes back.

Hopefully Martz will have the balls to tell Angelo and Lovie that he will only use Hester as a slot or gadget guy.

hester is going to blow up in Martz offense. you gotta think martz has some special sht lined up for him. I mean martz almost made az hakim into a star.

with tht being said he should return kicks.

True, but he was miscast as a starter & primary weapon.

Hakim was a great #3 who could exploit backup DB's, but a below average starter.

I can agree to an extent that Hester has shown improvement at the WR position, but he's still not quite there yet. If anyone remember's his first year as a WR he couldnt even line up right. Moose and Berrian had to line him up before the play. He also couldnt really catch at all. All they would throw were screens, and short route passes. He couldnt catch a deep ball to save his life.. SEE game against the Giants where he dropped a wide open deep ball from REX GROSSMAN. Towards the end of that year he showed improvement... in 2008 When he was the #2 WR he wasnt bad at all. Making some pretty good catches with the carousel of QB's we had... This year he wasnt bad at WR at all.. but he's not a true #1. He never will be either, as much as he'd like to think.

The Bears need to use him in the slot, and on kickoff/punt duty. We have Knox, who people say is faster than Hester, so he's our speed threat. If the Bears can somehow get a True #1 like B. Marshall, Hester's productivity will increase.

Hester could always catch. People make it seem as though he couldn't simply to say he improved at something....anything. Hester's hands were never a concern. Go back and read reports from training camp in 2007 when they started using him at WR.
You do realize in 2008 he was the #1 WR right? He started the last half of the year and lead the WR's in catches and yards.

He still can't line up right. Listen to reporters on WSCR, namely Hub, who talk about times when Jay will audible and Hester will run back and forth look at Jay, shrug and go do whatever. It's pathetic.

I must admit.. Hester is one of only a few WRs ive ever seen be called for an off-side on multiple occasions.

And the Bears have Olin Kruetz who, I swear to God, gets called for more false starts than any center I have ever seen.

Hub thinks that Devin is nothing more than a 3rd down back and a return specialist.

You mean the OC that should have been promoted to HC?

                            How was 0-16? Fun?

Enjoy the 0-2 sweep in 2010.

It took him this long to realize that he's an amazing kick returner but not an amazing receiver? Smh.

But I understand Lovie's decision. Daniel Manning is one hell of a returner, and since you didn't have outstanding receivers, why not try Hester at a receiving slot? That being said, his plan failed, and now he needs to put Hester back where he belongs.

                                From Martz:

LM: What role do you envision Devin Hester filling on offense?

MM: I think he’s still the best special teams return guy in the league, period. We have to be careful about how much we ask him to do on offense. That’s really a reason the Bears have won some games is because of Devin and what he does in the return game. So we’ll be very judicious in what we ask him to do offensively. But he’ll be very involved and we’ll ask him to do some really dynamic things where we can get him isolated in [favorable] personnel match-ups
I'm glad he realizes that. It Sounds like he doesn't expect him to be #1. I realize the season is far away but I'm glad Martz is going to do the offense hopefully his way and not Angelo's way.
