Garrett is as much to blame for them being 1-7, if not more, than Wade Phillips. His offensive schemes are a joke. He would have been awesome in the 60's though, when teams hadn't seen an offense throw 65% of the time...
      Absolutely.

Garrett was a backup QB for a reason, he sucks.

Jones undermined Phillips the second he gave Garrett a $3M a year contract. It told the team Jones didn't take Phillips seriously.

It's time for Jones to do one of three things: A) Just take the head coach job himself; B) Give full control to a real GM to make the decisions; C) Give a coach both jobs and absolute autonomy.

I don't doubt Jones is a great owner, but a great owner doesn't make a great GM and coach too.

And if Jones thinks he's that great, grab the headset and do it yourself.

Yeah, everyone knows success as a player directly correlates to success as a coach.

Alright, I concede I was being over the top there.
But what has he done as a coach that rates him a $3M a year deal and coach in waiting status?
          Seriously?

Nothing. I'm so glad the Falcons 'missed out' on this guy in 2008.

Please. A little 2 minute snipping that sounds a little more motivating than it actually should, and only because HBO added some nice background music to it, doesn't mean shit.

Garrett is a soft ass bitch just like Phillips who can't control a team. That little redhead pencil neck geek talking about "swagger" is laughable.

The Cowboys have been playing with a ton of "swagger" the last few years. Too bad swagger really doesn't have shit to do with winning football games in the NFL. Time for the cowboys to grow the fuck up. Getting rid of Phillips is one step in the right direction, getting rid of Garrett will be two.

Swagger, what a stupid word. Good teams don't act like they have swagger and don't need speeches telling them to play with swagger. They just have what it takes.

I actually think its Garretts job for at least another season as well. He was talking like he was planning on changing this team longer than 8 weeks. I was listening to his presser and I said to my dad, "what the hell? Hes talking like hes going to be the head coach for years to come. Its only 8 weeks." The dudes on Dallascowboys.com believe the same thing.

We'll see though. I liked what he had to say and he sounds like he has a more commanding approach but I Kinda wish and hope we go in another direction next year.

The dudes on DallasCowboys.com always continue to say that they can't wait to draft Andrew Luck with the top 5 pick and that they hate Romo. I was reading some shit the other day and they were still putting blame on Romo and he wasn't even playing lolololol

No way that's happening, Jerry won't go into rebuilding mode at this point.

They're 1-7 and fired there head coach. I've got news, they are already in a rebuilding mode.

There will obviously be some turnover with the roster, especially defensively going into next year. But as long as Romo is the starter, the public perception will be the Cowboys are still playoff contenders in 2011. If they get rid of Romo in his prime and supplant him with a top 5 QB draft pick, they'll be perceived as being in "rebuilding mode".

In the trenches, anyway. They're too loaded at the skill positions to be considered "rebuilding", though.

Based on what I know about Garrett, you're flat out wrong on that point. Not only has the "swagger" been minimal (big difference to me between false bravado and swagger) As far as his demeanor, I'm not saying he's gonna be Vince Lombardi, all fire and brimstone. He will, however, unlike Phillips, hold players who don't give maximum effort accountable.

You're basing too much of your opinion on him on his playcalling, and let's face it, he's known for two years now that he's been handicapped by that offensive line. I've said before I think he'll eventually be a solid HC in the league. Don't know if that time is now, but if it's not, he fails, and we bring in someone else next year. We're not losing a damn thing giving him the job now and an opportunity to prove himself.

But above all else, you need to understand that the way he wants to run things could not be more different than the way Wade did.

And if I'm wrong? Again, someone better suited replaces him.

Skill positions? Offense yes. Defense? They need help in the secondary, and on the D-Line. Also getting older at LB. They may even move to the 4-3. I would say they are already rebuilding this year.

And yes, they could make a quick turn around. I would expect it to be with a different coach and GM. If Jones would get smart enough to stay out of the way.

But you guys are closer to Dallas than I am. Just my opinions on this.
