Freeman before Blount: 85 passer rating
Freeman after Blount: 102 passer rating

Blount impacted Freeman and the offense more by himself. Now add in Mike Williams, and it's a no-brainer.

What kind of impact did the QB (the same guy) make in 2009 without those guys?

Seems like the QB's impact was directly related to the additions of those two players.

What changed? Williams for Antonio Bryant, Blount for C.Williams. the QB didn't change, you geek. He improved, sure, but that had a lot to do with the arrrival of those two skill guys. Freeman didn't single handedly change the Bucs. Its a myth.

Different situations. Freeman is better than Cassel and therefore makes more of an impact. Charles is better than Blount and makes more of an impact.

            Charles: 91.7 yds/game
            Blount: 91.5 yds/game

No saying Blount is in Charles league, but he made a very similar impact as Charles did when he got his chance.

                Not only that, but...

                Mike Williams: 60.3 yds/game

                Jacob Tamme: 39.4 yds/game

You'd have a better argument if we had more games to work with. With him making the progress in year 2 that TONS of players make after horrendous rookie years coming at the same time as those additions, it's hard to judge the before and after with such a young player.

But, really, I like how you're painting the picture of Williams coming in and being the man that helped Freeman when he was just a rookie. It was probably the other way around, with the team captain helping the rookie.

Anyone who even casually followed the Bucs last year knows what a difference there was between the offense with Cadillac and the offense with Blount. Cadillac is softer than bread and was relegated to third down back when Blunt took over, who pounded the ball like a beast, which clearly opened up the passing game based on Freeman's improved statistics before/after.

And yes, Williams definately impacted Freeman more than the other way around. LOOK AT FREEMANS NUMBERS IN 2009. And watch the video Shayne posted, its practically all Williams making great plays!

But its easy to say that Josh Freeman is the 86th best player in the NFL after one good season and one bad season.

That's because I'm responding to multiple different people and just making arguments within those quotes. You guys are mashing all of those statements together like I'm trying to make one, big argument when I'm just responding to individual posts.

LOL. So, when Shayn posts the video for Freeman's benefit, it's "well, it's his highlight video". But, you see Williams making plays in the SAME FUCKING VIDEO and speculate that he impacted Freeman more than the other way around. Fucking brilliant.

Don't take into consideration all of the times Freeman probably went over the playbook with the rookie, threw extra passes at the end of practice to get timing down, and all the other shit he probably did to get the rookie up to speed.

The players in the league apparently thought so. :ionno:

                              OK. Forget the video.

Please refer to Freeman's shitastic 2009 season, before he had Williams bailing him out once or twice per game.
