    Agreed.

But to me, that isn't at the level of a top 100 player in the league. That's not even elite at his own position, which to this point, he has not proven he can be. Plus, the eye test, while subjective, counts for something. I've never watched him play and thought I was watching an elite player. I've never though, wow, this is a guy I wish my team had. He's a nice player at this point. Nothing more. I suppose that is 'discrediting', but whatever.

I agree with your edit, as well. He hasn't done any of these things yet. He has no track record.

Let me ask you this. If he had a mediocre year, let's say 15/15 TD/INT, 55%, 3100 yards...would you be shocked? Be honest.

Williams and Blount are clearly out for the season in that scenario.

But seriously, no, probably not. But I mean nothing really surprises me anymore in this league. There are too many variables. Injuries, coaching changes, scheme changes, free agents, rookies, weak schedule, tough schedule, personal problems, ball bounces your way or not, etc. You never know what's gonna happen.

But, it's entertaining to speculate and make predictions.

What are you doing? Seriously. You are making this way too difficult. Is Josh Freeman one of the best 100 players in the NFL? Yes or no. What is the point in comparing Josh Freeman's TD-INT ratio from 2010 to Alex Smith's TD-INT ratio from 2006?

Since Josh Freeman had a better TD-INT ratio in 2010 than Alex Smith did in 2006, THIS IS PROOF THAT JOSH FREEMAN IS ONE OF THE BEST 100 PLAYERS IN THE NFL.

Sorry to stir the pot again, but I still don't understand what you are "arguing" about. Were there some posts deleted from this thread that would make your postings relevant?

Is there a an age bonus to this list? Why does it matter?

They had similar seasons in similar situations, plus Cassel has the better overall resume to this point. How you can trash Cassel and tout Freeman is hard to understand. Id say they are pretty close in the pecking order to this point, no matter who you favor.

Are you serious? QB's with 6 NFL seasons under their belt are at different stages of development than QB's with only 2 seasons.

Wow. Because Freeman has waaaaaaaaay more physical talent than Cassel. Cassel has the talent of Todd Collins, career backup.

Charlie Weis did a masterful job of masking Cassel's deficiencies as a player.

Scott Pioli has also done everything he can to put players around Cassel to make him succeed so his investment doesn't fail.

They are treating him like a franchise QB when he's not. Freeman could be.

Physical talent doesn't matter as much as production. What have you done? Cassel has done more, and they just turned in similar seasons. Very similar, both statistically and in terms of team success.

What does it matter where they are in career development? We are talking about the best players now, today.

I'm not even saying Cassel is the better player, what I'm saying is that they are pretty close in terms of where they are as players right now. I don't think either should even sniff the top 100.

Cassel has done more because he's been in the league 4 years longer.

                      Quit fishing for arguments.

And Mike Williams had almost 1000 yards and 11 TDs as a rookie WR!!! I expect him to be between #40 - #50 on the list, because the other WRs on the list have been in the league longer. Lets compare Williams' TD total to other Hall of Fame WR's rookie year TD totals!!!

                        Mike Williams = 11

                        Jerry Rice = 3

                        John Stallworth = 1

                        Lance Alworth = 3

                        Raymond Berry = 0

                        AWESOME!!!!
