Also, wouldn't count Mizzou out for DBG. He wants to stay as close to home as possible as he has a really sick brother I believe.
While this is true, his brother's condition is rapidly improving and he absolutely loved Texas when the family visited.
Everything I'm hearing is a real two-horse race between Texas and Arkansas. Apparently if Texas was solid at QB, it'd be almost a foregone conclusion that DGB would be a Longhorn. Unfortunately, at this point it's a toss-up - especially with his girlfriend going to school in Arkansas.
I'll be bummed if we lose out on both DGB and Mario Edwards on NSD. Especially with the loss of Thomas Johnson.
The University of Notre Dame football team added four players to its roster Tuesday, head coach Brian Kelly announced.
The Irish added one transfer student and three early-enrollee freshmen to the football squad.
Running back Amir Carlisle (Santa Clara, Calif./Kings Academy/USC) transferred to Notre Dame after attending the first semester of his freshman year at the University of Southern California.
Defensive lineman Sheldon Day (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central), quarterback Gunner Kiel (Columbus, Ind./Columbus East) and defensive back Tee Shepard (Fresno, Calif./Washington Union) graduated from their respective high schools last December.
The four players signed their scholarship forms and were enrolled at the University Tuesday, the first day of the 2012 spring semester at Notre Dame.
Who knows if it's true or not. Could be "one of those stories" that comes out and doesn't have much behind it. Gunner made a committ to LSU right after a visit. I always find that to be like saying "I love you" right after sex. Just kind of a knee jerk reaction. Plus Kiel always wanted to go someplace closer to home and play sooner. LSU didn't really fit that as I have a feeling we all knew Mettenberg was gonna play. Frankly, I'm surprised it wasn't Vandy that he switched to.
Gunner walks on to campus and will basically battle Hendrix and Golson for the starting job. I refuse to even mention Rees for it as I think that little experiment is done.
Depends on how much cap space they have available. Might have to amnesty a few guys but they'll make it work. They always do.
Arik was apparently on twitter asking for Auburn players' twitters. I think Arik wants to play at Auburn and with his brother, but with the SEC instituting the Masoli rule for transfers, Armond probably isn't going to Auburn. And with Cal out of the question, I really think Arik would have committed to ND yesterday if ND was in fact the leader. So I am not solid on Arik to ND.
And I am sure Auburn will find a way to squeeze in a Scout and 24/7 top 10 player.
And I think the only way Shaq flips to ND is if both Armstead's go ND. And even then, that chance is slim IMO as I think Washington is a leader.
The problem with landing Kiel is that ND is probably now at a number crunch at schollies and ND never pulls a scholarship from anybody. If both Armstead's commit, Yuri Wright commits, I think it leaves one spot for a guy like Shaq, Darby, Agholor, Garnett, Poole, to squeeze in there. Which really isn't a good position IMO.
