Tebow might turn out to be a great qb, he might turn out to be a horrible qb, but making an assumption on a 3 game sample is borderline retarded
Leadership means jack when it takes you 5 minutes to throw the ball.

I agree with Merril Hoge.. Tebow's not going to be a good NFL QB. People just like him because he seems like a pretty good person.

I think the opposite. Tebow is a decent, if flawed, QB prospect (of sorts). But since it's Tebow and he's been pushed by the media, he gets this backlash of hatred by people who want to see him knocked down a peg. It's not like this is the first time a 1st round QB has been pushed to play early. I mean, put Tebow's skill set and intangibles in Colt McCoy, and you wouldn't see 1/8th of the people saying he'll never be any good.

Went to the scrimmage at Invesco today it was really fun! The crowd went WILD for Tebow. By far the loudest I have ever heard for any Bronco at the inner squad scrimmage. It was at Invesco and the lower bowl was pretty full, a lot more people than I would guessed were there. Tebow looked real bad... He had trouble completing some easy screen passes and missed some wide open WR. I really think the pressure is getting to him. I don't know if you all heard the new drama that went down yesterday. Woody Paige wrote an article about Tebow and quoted him saying, something about his dream job being snatched away from him. Tebow fired back saying Paige took his comment out of context and he never said that. The local media again bashed Tebow all day and said he's trying to be a boyscott...

If he wants people to stop bashing him, he should probably just stop talking.

That's not really the situation though. Tebow's not out there making Tweets or asking for media attention. All his "talking" is done in press conferences, and the occasional interview. It's not like he's out there looking for media attention. He's a hot topic right now and everyone and their mom in the media wants a comment. I really think he cares too much about the Haters in the media that bash him and it's affecting his play. In the Paige interview he was upset because he felt Woody did him wrong. You could tell he was a little emotional about it too. He's just young and doesn't have the experience of negative media attention yet. Tebow just needs to realize 90% of the city of Denver is behind him and the majority of National fans got his back.

I dont like Tebow (being a FSU fan), but up until a few days ago I honestly didn't know what the big deal about him was. I thought him and Orton had got in a fight or something cause this camp battle should be no different than any other QB controversy. I think because of who he his, he's getting all this unnecessary, pointless attention.

Frankly, if I were Denver, I'd sign Orton to a cap friendly long-term deal (if he's game) and develop Tebow.
Why rush the Tebow experiment? It's not necessary.
Use Tebow out of the wildcat occasionally and treat him like the Packers did Aaron Rodgers.
If Orton plays great and Tebow doesn't develop, you still have a QB.
If Orton plays great and Tebow develops, you have two very tradeable commodities.
                      Etc...

Why everyone feels this need to label Tebow either the saviour or bust in year 2 is beyond me.

I swear thats the exact opposite advice you gave a long ass time ago in a thread about the Browns with Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn (i think).

IMO, and I could be wrong, Cleveland ruined both this guys quickly. I remember that great year Anderson had with Cleveland.

And I've always liked Tebow. I think some athletes are simply winners ... and he's one of those guys. Sometimes, a player doesn't have all the qualities you look for, but wins anyway. I think Tebow is one of those guys.

Orton doesn't want to have anything to do with mentoring Tebow. The last three games of last year Orton was no where to be found helping Tebow on the sidelines. When asked in camp by the media of what his thoughts on being a mentor were, he simply stated I'm not a back up QB... If you read in between the lines he wants nothing to do with making Tebow better. It's widely know by the local media and Bronco fans here in Denver that Quinn is more of a team player, when it comes to helping Tebow progress. This is why Orton has had a lot of negative feed back here in Denver.

Tebow won the heart of this city last year in the Texans game. I was there and it was totally crazy how the whole stadium was chanting his name after the game was over. Everyone walking out of the stadium that day was talking Tebow and giving high fives. That's not to say he has a free pass, fans won't tolerate a consistent loser at QB here in Denver. But if anything he earned the fans support when it comes to him vs. Orton.

Nah, the Tebow hype started in Denver the second he was drafted.

And Orton is a boss for not wanting to sit around and mentor Tebow, that's a role more suited for loser flame out Notre Dame players. Broncos disrespect Orton by starting Tebow and he's supposed to be over there teaching him how to throw a spiral? Better off sitting on the bench sipping whiskey counting manies.

Thats the new sports "media" for you these days. If Tebow saved a bus full of nuns tomorrow, half of them would praise him as the second coming and half of them would discredit him for being ten minutes late for practice. Either way, most fans feed into it now. It's all about made-up "controversy", villification, and hype backlash. Most people want to hate some player more than they want to like a player. It's pretty pathetic, to be honest.
