I always liked Quinn, and I never figured out how things went so bad for him in Cleveland. I think/thought that Quinn was miles ahead of Jimmy Clausen. I think Quinn is a better athlete than Orton, and if Quinn continues to play well it could be a 3-QB race in Denver.

Sorry I disagree. When you get to the NFL all the other shit your did is in the past. Just because you have been winning your whole life does not mean you are going to be successful in the NFL. The pro game is such a higher level than anything else. There are so many other factors for QBs as well. Just being drafted to the right situation with the right coaches for you can help you. If you are put into a situation that doesn't suit you well you can find your self and your talent coaching High School Football before you can say "WTF happened"Comment

Orton is through in Denver no matter what... He will either leave in a trade or via free agency in the off season. Elway & friends know this and are giving Quinn a good look to see if he's worth giving a contract next year. Tebow's not finished in Denver until they draft another young QB, which probably won't be for a while seeing as how they have way too many holes to fill. I think Tebow will have this year, next off season and 2012's training camp before the organization gives up on him.
Tebow is defiantly not acting like that... I don't know what QB you're following.Comment

Aug. 21, 2011 12:48 a.m. - by Lee Rasizer - No definite pecking order at QB for Broncos
Coach John Fox played Brady Quinn as the backup over Tim Tebow but played coy on the pecking order at the QB position. "We'll look at it moving forward. We haven't named a No. 1, 2 or 3 yet. .... From a competitive standpoint, what the league allows you to do is not name a two or three. My past suggests we won't."The Tebow era in Denver may be over before it even gets started. The consensus in speaking with a handful of team personnel executives when it comes to one Tim Tebow is this: A trade could happen, but it's becoming increasingly likely the Broncos will keep or cut Tebow because the trade interest is dwindling rapidly. The executives portray the Tebow situation as a complicated one. They believe that while the Broncos are not openly trying to trade Tebow, they say that when teams have recently inquired about him, the Broncos haven't been saying he's off the trading block, either. Again, just to be clear, the Broncos aren't openly shopping Tebow but teams that have asked were told: Make us an offer we can't refuse.

Originally posted by glenwillettI believe the Tebow being cut/moved theory. I think that the fact Weber got snaps in that game with Tebow only getting one series after playing almost half of the first preseason game was pretty telling.
The interview with Elway in the booth was pretty vanilla overall (Verne Lundquist) but I did notice that when he was talking about the QBs he mentioned Tebow's slow start at camp while having nothing but praise for the rest of the players at the position.
I think Denver is more than ready to move on with Orton/Quinn (with one going to the first team to have a starter go down) and Weber as the backup with a chance to grab one of the talented QBs coming out in 2012 to build their franchise around. But Tebow is far and away the most popular player on the Broncos at this point and the fan base is still kind of shell shocked from what happened with the team's last savior, Jay Cutler (ugh).
I think Denver's front office is in a really tough spot with this whole situation right now. They were brought in to stabilize this team after Josh McDaniels spent two years making arguably the worst sequence of personnel moves in the history of football (I challenge someone to find someone who got rid of so much talent for nothing so quickly) but this "Tebow thing" (to quote Brandon Lloyd) is a huge monkey wrench in getting it done smoothly.
I never thought I would say this but it would be in the best interest of the franchise to just go away quietly at this point (like that's possible). And if you're really serious about being an NFL QB why don't you spend the off-season working on your progressions and footwork rather than writing an autobiography that Disney wouldn't have even put out it was so filled with sap.
Pat Bowlen/John Elway are not stupid. They know they are treading lightly with fans and can't afford another 4-12 season. They are in serious danger of ending that crazy 40 year sell out streak, if anything Tebow would ensure ticket sells. Buried at the number three QB spot Tebow still keeps his fan base around this year. Now I personally don't think that's the reason they will keep him around, I fully believe Fox/Xanders/Elway feel Tebow is still an option at QB at some point in the future. Hell he's going to contribute this year in short yardage/red zone packages.
Out of the Four QB's on the team I see the 2012 training camp shaping out like this. Orton on a different team, Quinn and Tebow battling out for the number one spot and Weber (2011 practice squad) and a rookie QB dueling for the number three spot. Orton will be long gone because Denver won't "show him the money" and guarantee him a starting job, plus he took a shot to the ego this year by dwindling fan support and Elway trying to trade him. Quinn will get a multi-year deal (probably a 2-years) that's franchise friendly. And Tebow will be backing him up and getting PT in certain packages.
Finally, how do you know what Tebow did during the off-season? I'm sure it wasn't just sell underwear, write a book and play golf (like the media leads you to believe). The book was probably written years ago, if he REALLY wrote any of it himself. I'm more inclined to believe his play was affected by the lockout, that other stuff just doesn't fit his public persona.
We can agree on one thing though. McDamage is totally poison for a franchise and is probably one of the worst coaches in the NFL (talent evaluation wise). Elway/Xanders has come in here and really done nicely with the scrap heap they were left!Comment

Tim Tebow joins Broncos' offseason workouts
"This part is important to show that we're all together," Tebow said. "I know a lot of us have been throwing and catching and doing what we need to do in other places, but this is big just to show that we're together. You can come together a few times to show, 'Hey, we've got each other's backs.' "
"I've been working with a lot of different receivers for the last several months, throwing in different states, wherever we've been, so I feel like I've got great timing," Tebow said.
Tebow was the only quarterback at the session. Veteran Kyle Orton, who threw passes at the bubble last week and on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, did not attend.
http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_18095806Originally posted by glenwillett"Quinn's transformation is as telling as anything. He looks light years more confident than he did even last season and there's no reason for Tebow to look as flustered as he has (that INT he got bailed out on in the 1st preseason game; that crazy play where he ran all over the place that resulted in three offensive penalties; being noticeably upset as he came off the field in that last game) especially if he were to put in that same level of work."
Fact of the matter is this, Orton is the best QB on the team, Quinn is a better NFL QB than Tebow at this point.....However Tebow will still have more of an impact on how the 2011-12 season plays out. Neither Quinn being a mens model, Tebow writing a book or Orton being an alcoholic will affect how the 2011-12 season plays out. The running game and how the defense plays will be the KEY.Comment

"If everything was totally equal, and this were a competition based only on performance at this camp, Tebow would probably be the fourth-string guy," one source said. "Kyle [Orton] is far and away the best, and Tebow's way behind [Brady] Quinn, too. And I'm telling you, Adam Weber is flat-out better right now." Added another Broncos exec, "Forget about how [Tebow] delivers the ball, or how accurate it is. First he has to know where to go with it." Team officials are now relieved that the Dolphins opted against meeting Denver's third-round asking price on Orton. Tebow was always expected to be a developmental project, but this year's camp has been a blow to his long-term outlook.

First off it is a competition based only on performance, that's why Brady Quinn looks like he will be the 2nd string QB. All this BS buzz about Adam Weber being a better player than Tebow is ridiculous. All it is is crappy reporters trying to stir the pot more. For god's sake the Broncos haven't even officially named a second string QB. When the season is all said and done, all three (Orton Quinn Tebow) QB's will have taken snap in games and Weber will be on the practice squad.Comment
