    The Blaine Gabbert Era Begins

Del Rio has made the announcement and McCown lasted less than 8 quarters.

It was stupid to cut Garrard and even dumber to really expect anything out of McCown as a starter.

Jags fans will realize how much they should've appreciated David Garrard's mediocrity after a few years of Blaine Gabbert, I guarantee it.

Thanked not for your homerific Gabbert comment, but for the sunshine pic. Immediately came to mind when I first saw him take the field last week.

Garrard would never throw 4 interceptions in Week 2 of the season.

Box score for the San Diego Chargers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars NFL game from September 19, 2010 on ESPN. Includes all passing, rushing and receiving stats.

Anyways, I really hope Gabbert is the QB they have been searching for since Brunell left. Even if he struggles this year, it gives the fan base hope and excitement. Something it never had when Leftwich/Garrard/McCown was under center.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have their third starting quarterback in 15 days. They believe this one could be the guy for 15 years.

Nobody expected anything out of McCown, they expected the same meh play they got out of Garrard for a half decade. And that's what they got. The difference between the two is negligable.

Gabbert was taking over no matter what, cutting Garrard is a non issue and the most overblown story of the offseason. Just because someone starts for a long time doesn't mean he deserved it or is entitled to anything. Garrard was likely no better than probably half the backups in the league during his time as a starter. Its just that he got to play, and a lot of guys never get a chance.

10% chance depending on how well he can get the team to play in the second half of the season. He can fall back on having a rookie QB but he's been there for so long with so little success, ownership needs to take a step forward and bring in fresh blood.

Unless he can pull a rabbit out of his ass and get JAX into the playoffs he's as good as done. Jacksonville needs an offensive mind at the HC spot. Not a halfbaked defensive head coach or whatever. He is a lazy son of a bitch. There is no killer instinct in him at all. The Jaguars will get way ahead in the game and instead of easing off the gas he comes to a complete fucking stop and lets the other team back in the game. It's frustrating and its been that way since 2003. 8 fucking years i've dealt with his lackadaisical effort on game day. For the past 3 years i've wanted him gone and this will be the only season i hope we do poorly to shit can his ass. /rant

Yeah they will give us Dirk Koetter as our offensive minded head coach If we can Del Rio, I really want the Jags to go out and get Mike Pettine. I think he will be a great head coach in the NFL.
