Time to get this thread going for the upcoming season since we are about to play the third pre-season game.

Will be interesting to see how much time Hightower could get. I think he could come down with the majority of touches to start the season if he is fully recovered from the torn ACL.

Always miss pre-season games due to work, but it seems like the Redskins turned in a good performance. Extremely impressed with Alfred Morris, who not only has a roster spot but is vying for the starting job at this point, completely unexpected.

How has the defense performed? That is the one thing that the stat box doesn't really tell.

The offensive line cannot pass block very well. Right tackle is a huge hole as is LG &C. Not really surprising.

Defensively, if the pass rush can't get to the QB within 4 seconds, the secondary will be picked apart. Again, not much of a surprise.

Jenkins shows flashes but not enough to crack the starting rotation. I expect that will actually take about 8 - 10 weeks in to the season.

Safeties are blah. Meriweather has been the best, if that's what you want to call it. If Haslett continues to be a dumbass and keeps calling for these zero coverages, it's going to be a long season.

On Monday evening, the Washington Redskins released the official list of players cut as the team reduced its roster from 90 to 75 players.

They are:

Kicker Neil Rackers; quarterback Jonathan Crompton; running backs Antwon Bailey and Lennon Creer; offensive linemen Chris Campbell, James Lee, Tony Moll and Nick Martinez; linebacker Monte Lewis; receivers Lance Lewis and Sam Kirkland; tight end Beau Reliford and cornerback Morgan Trent.

Offensive tackle Jammal Brown has been put on the Physically Unable to Perform list after surgery on his hip. Kevin Barnes was traded to the Detroit Lions for an undisclosed draft pick.

The team must trim the roster to 53 players by 9 p.m. Friday.

Provided that the protection team is better, Gano will have a very good season. Not surprised at all that Rackers was cut. Actually, none of them surprised me, but the trade of Barnes did. With his height, I thought for sure the Redskins would have held onto him until at least the final cut, though with the amount of defensive backs on the team it makes sense.

Also interesting to note that Kirk Cousins will start the last pre-season game. Possibly seeing if Grossman could be released?

I am absolutely shocked at Cooley, and this is why I hate missing pre-season. Did Paulson and Paul really outplay him, or was it truthfully getting out of his contract? If any of you guys can shed some light on that, it would be helpful for me, because Cooley is essentially a Redskins fan, and if RGIII's words on Twitter are any indication, a leader right up until today.

As for Gano, that is also another disappointing one. Half of his misses last year were blocked, he had a good leg for kickoffs and the Redskins have invested a lot in growing him. All for nothing now

Shocked at the Cooley move. He said it would be hard for him to put on another jersey. He's only 30...would be surprised if he hung up his cleats.
