Remember that scene in Remember The Titans when Coach Boone made Petey run a mile carrying the football because he fumbled? If he were the coach of the Redskins he'd make them run the whole damn Marine Corps Marathon next week after this performance

un-friggin-real
how does a defense let what happened to the opposing team, allow it to happen to themselves.
what was Williams thinking by creeping up instead of going back for the deep ball coverage when Wilson got beat by Cruz??
that looked exactly like what Rolle did when Moss ran right by his man.
that was just ridiculous.....
anyway - the good thing;
RGIII is doing so much more than expected. he took the lead late......that was on the Defense this loss.3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complainingComment

I kinda hope he doesn't sign. I want him to just retire and be happy. Though judging by the fact that he's getting divorced and recent radio interviews, that doesn't seem very likely.The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"Comment

I never thought I'd say this but I'm actually very pleased with the play of the OL this year. They may all be a bunch of bums, has-beens, and never-wases but damn do they work well as a team. The way they pull on those trademark Shanahan sweeps is beautiful.Comment

David wasnt a blocking TE anyway.

I thought Paulsen stepped up nicely. Rather than spend a fortune and bring Cooley back for sentimental reasons, why not just add a cheap young body to round out the roster?Comment
-
Eh, I think Cooley would take the minimum, or pretty close to it. I'd rather get someone who knows the offense, especially if they are available as a FA.Comment
-
Well, Cooley's back, and I think he's going to get some time in these games. I am not expecting much, because his body was pretty battered during his time here, but any help is needed, as well as his leadership.
Besides Davis, the Garcon injury was finally revealed- a torn tendon- and he will miss the next four games. The other receivers have certainly stepped up, as has Santana Moss (loving him in the slot) but losing the top two guys really hurts.
Fletcher is also nursing a hamstring injury, but could be written off the report depending on how practice goes on Wednesday.
Oh, and we seem to have found our kicker.Comment

we need to do something with our FS/SS situation......
getting burned on that last TD yesterday with the Eil to Cruz Connection was just a TERRIBLE Read by Williams.....
one of the 1st lessons playing FS/SS (even in Pee-Wee league); is not to get beat deep.
and as for Cooley;
ehhhh - he out of playing shape. i cannot imagine him being any impact.3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complainingComment

Also, ball protection in this game was horrendous. That needs to get drilled into the team this week, for everyone.Comment

ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon says he has a torn ligament on the bottom of his right foot and he's hoping to avoid surgery.
Garcon described the injury that's sidelined him for four of Washington's past six games as a "plantar plate tear" near his second toe. The plantar plate is a ligament that holds a toe in its joint.
Garcon said Thursday that "surgery is an option" that probably would end his season, adding: "But we don't really want to think about that at all."
He visited a foot specialist Wednesday.
Garcon only has eight catches for 153 yards this season, his first with the Redskins after signing a $42.5 million, five-year contract as a free agent.
Meanwhile, linebacker London Fletcher is being evaluated for a head injury and has missed practice for a second consecutive day, putting his consecutive-games streak in doubt.
Coach Mike Shanahan says Fletcher has spent about six hours being checked Thursday by a neurologist for a "balance issue." Shanahan listed Fletcher as not practicing because of head and hamstring problems.
Shanahan said he expects to be able to say more about Fletcher's status Friday.
The Redskins (3-4) play at the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-3) on Sunday.
The 37-year-old Fletcher has appeared in 231 consecutive games -- every one his teams played in since he entered the league as an undrafted rookie with the St. Louis Rams in 1998.
