I actually have to agree with Panda. VY's hype was big, but within the confines of the NFL. People have to remember that Tebow's hype goes far beyond football.

I have such mixed feelings on Tebow. Dude can play football for sure but he will never be a QB who throws the team on his back sure he has some comeback wins. But if that's what we're going by take a look at John Skelton. Both have a good starting record and 5 game winning drives a piece. Where's the JS love?

I'm definitely cheering for the guy. But, the media attention is really annoying; the coverage is worse than Brent Favre comeback watch.

People have gone completely overboard with it to the point that I don't think it's purely about football anymore. Like I didn't see this type of hype when Vince Young came in for a 0-6 team that had just loss 0-59, then immediately the team goes 7-1. That run had OT games and 6 4th quarter comebacks / game winning drives. Including a 99 yard game winning drive verses the Cardinals. Both times you saw the D instantly turn things around and start shutting down other teams. Both times you saw a top 5 rushing attack.

I did not see Vince Mania though.

I also think that players like Von Miller and Willis McGahee aren't getting enough credit.
I think that's BS. Von Miller has gotten 10x more publicity this year than Chris Long, DeMarcus Ware, and Jason Babin combined. And it's because of this Tebow obsession in the media. He's having a tremendous rookie year, but I think he's actually getting a good deal more credit than he regularly would without Tebow and the frenzy he envokes. Willis is a little under-appreciated, but RBs have a hard time going unnoticed in this fantasy football atmosphere. Dumervil seems to be a little under appreciated though, for a guy who is a Pro Bowler two years ago.

                        No.

Let me make this clear. I'm not talking about Von Miller versus Jasin Babin. I'm talking about who gets the credit for the Broncos' success. I think Tebow gets far too much of it and this is with me going IN knowing that QBs tend to get more credit than they deserve. Tebowmania has managed to surpass what normally happens with QBs. It's all Tebow while the defense, special teams and rest of the offense go largely unnoticed.

I've brought up multiple examples in this thread. There is no way period that another QB can put together the game Tebow did against the Bears and get the amount of hype and adulation he does. It's just not going to happen. Any other QB and the story is mainly focusing on the defense forcing a critical turnover, only giving up 10 points and the kicker drilling two long field goals. Or the focus is on the Bears' collapse. But with Tebow you got the entire ESPN campus Tebowing for a week straight.

The shit is ridiculous and if you can't see it there's no point in discussing it any further.

Who else has consistent comebacks as exiting as Tebow does? Coming from a high profile QB who not only wasn't supposed to succeed in the league, but started the season at 3rd string. The way he wins is a lot more exciting then watching a more standard QB. Naturally fans/media are gonna be drawn to it.

Tebow gets more focus then any other QB in that situation, because there aren't any other QBs like Tebow in the league.

John Skelton. Also saw something similar with VY (before your time) and the same level of hype wasn't there...like I've mentioned in here several times.

And please don't try to get into football related discussions with me when you just started watching football this season. I refuse. You are the exact kind of casual fan this Tebowmania shit is custom tailored for.

                              < sick of Tebow.

The only two times I've rooted for the Patriots was when I needed them to finish my parlay (which they did and won me 250 bucks ) and last week to destroy the Broncos and that Tebow hype.

Moreso, it's so frustrating to keep the broncos offense from doing jack shit, then in one drive, see him literally run his ass to a win last second. But I blame shitty coaching in that one and Eric "I'm useless" Smith.

It's a good story what he's "HELPED" done to that team but in no way should he be getting as much publicity as he's gotten.
