    “Brady throw to Welker”
The Brady throw could have been better thrown, but this is football and Welker has made that type of catch his entire Patriots career.
I'm pretty certain the winning Eli-term is

"Who are you to doubt Eli Dandy?"

There was a lot of genius right there.

I know who they are. My point is nobody else does, which means their play is less scrutinized vs a QB, especially in the SB. Do you think they were under as much pressure as Manning to perform?

My answer as of today is no.
Luckily for Eli, there are plenty of HOFers who were never considered the GOAT at any point in their career...

There is alot of emphasis on this Welker catch and I get it but he didnt drop it in the endzone....there is no guarantee they score a TD and Eli would have gotten the ball back with some time maybe only down by 5.

There were two DB's under the play inside and outside. You don't miss that throw short. You put it high and outside away from the underneath DB's and the inside safety.

It wasn't the most accurate ball on the face of the earth but it was the right read and throw, wasn't poorly thrown and Welker had it in his hands. A poorly thrown ball there misses Welker completely. This one hit him in both hands.

If you don't have an issue with the read you can't make an issue of Welker twisting and turning..which he would have had to do regardless as a function of the read and the ball being thrown back outside.
Yes.. two db's short.. spaced apart. There was plenty of space to fit that ball that could have made it a much easier catch. It was poor placement.

So, metaphorically speaking, our physiology basically has the universe mapped out and you're thinking it needs to be taught addition & subtraction.

                  Fuck, you suck sports discussions.

Your time would have been better spent with finishing your fucking Top 100 Wrestlers list...no more sports related, movie related, anything related posts from you until you get at least one more done.

And Flacco played a better game than Brady, and when it comes down to it, if Evans had made that catch this thread might not exist.

It has become increasingly evident that all it takes is for your team to win as a QB and you will be immortal (that being said, I do think Eli deserved to be MVP, I just thought that the game in general was pretty "meh").

It's a bit of a leap to assume Eli will reach both sets of criteria in every season for the next five years, given that he's done both in the same year precisely once in his career (2010).

Three total 4000 yard passing seasons out of 9 tries, and one 30 TD season (29 this season). Yep, let's pencil in him to match his career highs every season for the next five, since that's totally how athletes progress. As soon as they reach their peak, they stay there for the foreseeable future.
Do you know what the difference is between career averages and career highs?

Eli has to hit his career AVERAGES over the next 3 seasons to be in the top 15 of all major passing categories.

                        Averages. Not highs.

Let me say it one more time since you're having trouble.

                        Averages.

For such an inaccruate pass Welker sure seemed to have a really damn good chance at making the play.
That doesn't mean the pass was accurate, however.
