But hey, let's go ahead and extrapolate those numbers for the next five years, since players always maintain their peak level performance five years beyond their career season.
LOL @ you LOLing a hypothetical. :dtrain:

It's not like I'm suggesting Mark Sanchez will throw for 5,000 yards.

Eli has averaged over 4300 yards and 29 TD the past three years.

So clearly he's good for five more seasons at that clip! Got it.

Eli's stats in the 6 game run

          1790 yards/298 per game 13 TD's and 2 INT's. Just incredible in 6 elimination games.

I think the point is, are you changing the HOF criteria for Eli Manning though? Based on who is in and what Eli has done what he is projected to do will he get in?

Larry is saying, based on the HOF and who is in, Eli will be a HOF, not really if he should based on W2BTD logic or any other stats that is thrown out, but on who is in the actually HOF right now

I bet Larry thinks Jack Morris is a surefire HOFer too.

I'm pretty sure that is the type of math that everyone used to proclaim that Manning passing all of Favre's records as being a virtual certainty. Why the double standard?

I know your tricks Mr Bill, lets keep this about Eli and even Brady...

Averaging out a decade+ worth of production as the best QB in the NFL =/= to taking 3 years worth of production as not even one of the Top 5

Wow, I'm impressed. Just when I think we've successfully navigated a thread about NFL quarterbacks without Mr Bill shoehorning a perceived slight against Brett Favre into it, he manages to prove everybody wrong.

I think HOF criteria should be fluid for all players. Every career is different. Stats, achievements, all of that needs to be placed into context.

Why should we be locked into this train of thought of, "well, that's SB number two, he has to be in, that's that"? Shouldn't we be more sophisticated in our thought process than that, instead of repeating media narratives based on standards somebody came up with 30 years ago?

Somewhere along the way, thanks in part to slow motion, dramatic NFL Films footage and the enormity of what the game has become, we have turned the performances of QB's in this game into mythology. When the team wins, of course. Had Brady stuck it in the end zone on the final drive, suddenly Eli isn't as clutch anymore. Huh?

LOL and it's the "stat geeks" who have removed the subtleties and nuance from sports. Right.

The "stat geeks" are the ones who are ignoring context, not the mouth breathers who parrot studio banter as if its canon. Right.

If Trent Dilfer won another superbowl, would you put him in the HOF?

I haven't seen any reasons in recent years to think otherwise. :verlander:
