Manning's first pass was a TD to marvin harrison (or reggie wayne, i forget which one) on a 5 yd slant that he took 50+ to the house....... in preseason.... which everyone reacted to the same way they did to Luck's... i dont give a shit if it's preseason, Luck looked damn impressive yesterday and made a variety of throws look easy...

I'll take "things we already know" for 1000, Atlas.Comment

Didn't we already know all of this, though? I'm just laughing at the idea that we needed a preseason game
to validate our opinion on him. If you've ever seen him play even once you already know he is incredibly polished and has great touch. It's kind of silly really to alter your opinion of any player based on or game, especially a preseason game. He is a gifted passer with the tools to be a great NFL quarterback. I'll take

But the fundamental act of throwing an 18 yard pass to the sidelines is the exact same, no matter the level of play or the caliber of the opposing defense. He has superb touch and accuracy when given time to throw, and a window to throw through. But again, we knew that already.
The true test will be how quickly he can make his reads when he faces a fierce pass rush, but that's not likely to happen against a team three weeks into training camp who is still installing their scheme ...Comment

Jesus Christ, what a terrible thread.
Football is the only sport where you would see a thread like this. Nobody ever says, "OMG guys, did you see Bryce Harper go deep in that Grapefruit League game today!!?", or "Wow, John Wall lit up the Bucks for 18 in that exhibition action!".
Preseason, A FUCKING SCREEN PASS, nobody should care except for Colts fans, and even they shouldn't really give that much of a shit.Comment

I don't recall a single Spring Training performance ever being talked about on this level. Ever.Comment

Well that is a whole other topic that deals with how ESPN exists solely to cover ESPN now, not sports, but yes I tend to agree. It's completely stupid and needless, and yet here we are.Comment

BTW, what'd you think of that House of Payne episode last night?Comment

Considering Luck had a ton of hype coming into the year + football being the most popular sport... uh yeah.. they're leading off with that.
Again, doesn't matter if its preseason or the St. Louis Rams, Luck played exceptionally well. And I guarantee if he stunk up the place, you'd be one of many laughing at him and saying "Oh I guess cutting Peyton Manning really paid off! LOLOLOL!"Originally posted by ram29jacksonI already said months ago that Seattle wasn't winning any SBComment
