Receiver was shoved out of bounds, ran back in as quickly as possibly, and clearly fucking reestablished possession (six steps should do it). So why is it still illegal touching?
Someone explain end of the Bucs-Saints game...

Dumb ass rule, nothing more. A man can push you out of bounds and you cant do shit about it but if you push him its offensive PI. Weak weak shit. Refs should have swallowed the whistle right there, Im 99.9 percent sure they would have for Brees.

It was the right call.
Because Freeman escaped from the pocket, the defender can shove the WR before the pass and there is no illegal contact. Once the WR is out of bounds, he can't touch the ball first, regardless if he reestablishes position.
Had Freeman thrown from the pocket, it would have been illegal contact by the Saints defender, so the catch would have been legal IF the TB WR reestablished himself (which he did). In that case, TB would have declined the penalty, TD.
Blame the rule, not the ref. Just another confusing, convoluted, overly complicated NFL rule.Comment

unless the receiver purpose runs out to come back in at some angle to gain some unfair advantage there is nothing to call..its just dumbComment

the rules needs changes for the end zone being different from the field of play..its fucking stupid to be rendered inelligable because a CB can shove your ass if he feels like it ....?Comment

The fact Freeman didn't throw the ball until after the receiver was back in bounds doesn't matter. That receiver still cannot be the first person after the pass is thrown to touch the ball.

the rule is pointless and makes no sense anyway. The receiver didnt gain any unfair advantage doing what he did
2 steps out, 2 steps in..the defender was rewarded for pushing him out of bounds = stupidComment
