Elite? No. Very Good? Yes. On his way though and it wont be long.

Fucking wow. Glutton for punishment. Why not start evaluating for the future unless you are ready to go into next season with him under center?

Well they just gave Sanchez a 5 year extension in the spring so looks like his extension is protecting his job right now

In 2013 his money is guaranteed but in 2014-2016 his money is not guaranteed

            A breakdown of the contract:
            • His 2012 compensation will remain the same as the previous contract ($11.75 million), except now it's fully guaranteed and will be divided as follows: $8 million signing bonus; $3.25 million base; $500,000 workout bonus.
            • His 2013 compensation went from a non-guaranteed $6 million to a guaranteed $8.25 million, bringing the total guarantee in the new contract to $20.5 million.
            • The money in 2014-2016 is not guaranteed. That includes $11.5 million in '14 ($2 million roster bonus, $9 million base, $500,000 workout), $14 million in '15 ($1 million roster bonus, $12.5 million base, $500,000 workout) and $12.25 million in '16 ($1 million roster bonus, $10.75 million base, $500,000 workout). There's also $10 million in potential escalators.

            According to ESPN, http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/stor...peyton-manning

So if anything We have at least one more year with him.

I would like to say they should draft a new qb, but they need to fix that oline first and find some wrs

The Jets should just cut their losses. Yes 8.5 million is a lot to just throw away but the Jets need to start rebuilding imo. I think they are at that point. Keeping Sanchez for next season only delays the inevitable.

So ~$12 mil for Sanchez next year and there's no way out of it? Good God...

I hope they ship Tebow off to some place where he can play and get more wins then the Jets next year.

That's a huge cap hit though especially if they plan on adding a starting QB via free agency like Vick or Alex Smith. If Ryan and Tannenbaum get fired I can see it happening but otherwise those two will only have next year to protect their jobs and I cant see them just blowing off that much of the cap.

The Jets really have to hit a home run in the next draft or the whole organization is probably in line for a complete facelift.

The Oline is fine and if Holmes was healthy the Wrs wouldn't be as bad. It's all about the QB I don't think Sanchez reads the defense properly and gets surprised by the blitz way too many times. In the small amount of plays against the cardinals McElroy adjusted the line properly and protected the ball and that's what this team needs right now until they can find a QB that actually throw the ball.

                          He's a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

                          Stats don't lie.

I don't care if you dumb fucks wanna pile on. To say that Peyton Manning is solely responsible for Reggie Wayne or Marvin Harrison is ridiculous.
                          LOL at this post.

Waynes "career year" was probably 2007 when he had his second highest touchdown total and highest yardage total ever.
                          1510 yards, 14.5 YPC, 10 TDs.

This year he's on pace for
                          1541 yards, 13.1 YPC, 4 TD.

Even if he hits that I'd still take 2007.

And no Wayne isn't even a lock to make the HOF, let alone first ballot.

Obviously having Wayne (and Harrison) helped Manning but it is what it is. Any team in the league instantly becomes a threat if he's swapped in at QB. Regardless of personnel.

I've watched Manning get it done with Blair White and Jacob Tamme as two of his main targets.

The organization needs a facelift BEFORE the draft! Just let Tannenbaum take care of the cap shit and hire a real GM. And keep Rex's input to a minimum.

Tebow is active and McElroy is not today.
