is Jonathan Martin a dumb ass or did someone do something to him worth talking about?

With each day that passes, Martin is looking worse & worse here.
Both players are gone, and nobody is saying anything bad about Ingocnito.
What i've learned the past few months with Riley Cooper & Incognito, is that nobody cares about the word "nigger" in the NFL. NFL locker rooms are apparently far less sensitive places than the rest of our culture in terms of racial epitaphs. You can say a *word* and not be automatically labeled a racist. Boys will be boys, I suppose.
And those that may have had an issue with it, know why its done. The players coming out and putting their two cents in all follow the same narrative...these types are leaders and this "bullying" is done to weed out the weak and bring them into the mix. Players in the league long enough always come around, they realize the lesson learned.
Martin is soft. His soft mentality was coming out in his play on the field. Coaches haven't been able to get anything out of him, so they told the players to see if they could. Martin is soft, so he quit and took it to the media. Incognito is no saint, but its pretty clear Martin violated some cardinal rules of the locker room. If you don't want to play...don't...but don't try to bring someone else down with you.
Maybe Incognito's methods were shit, but you're trying to bring the animal out of this charmin soft player. Get some fire in him. He plays like a twink on the football field. I am certain a guy like Incognito wanted nothing more than for Martin to punch him in the face, it'd be more fire than Martin had showed in his life and hopefully get him to start playing like a football player and less like a guy who is a bit light in the loafers.Last edited by LiquidLarry2GhostWF; 11-07-2013, 06:51 PM.Comment

Yeah, it's becoming impossible to defend Martin, who is clearly a mental midget and softer than a loaf of bread.
Incognito has a history of macho bullshit & rage, so i'm sure he went over the line more than is being let on, but this Martin is just not cut out for life among alpha males. The coaches saw a guy who wasn't fitting in, and asked the dog with the loudest bark to help integrate him. I don't see the problem with that.
Also, good on the players (many of who are black) for not turning on Incognito for the dreaded n-word, when it's pretty obvious from every account in that locker room that it was an accepted part of the good natured ribbing between players. As I said earlier, it's petty surprising to me that apparently that word isn't as taboo in NFL locker rooms as it is in society. It seems as though these athletes adhere to common sense and context better than society at large.Comment

And again, my biggest issue with Martin is the total lack of a spine he displayed by running home under the cloak of darkness, and having his agent do his dirty work for him.
If you aren't going to be a man and either accept the culture or stand up for yourself, then at least have enough guts to walk up to your boss, hand him your jersey, shake his hand, and tell him your quitting. What a fucking coward this guy is.Comment

Seriously, wrestling never fails to provide something relate-able to popular culture.Comment

Also should note that I never would have clicked that had I known it was a MMQB article.
I am doing my small part to never visit that site due to the attention seeking hypocritical bullshit of refusing to say or type "Redskins" by Peter King.
He's made millions off of the NFL and the Redskins, a word that was not offensive for decades and still isn't, but is so guilty of being white and so scared of his own shadow that he's hopped on the PC train lest he offend the 1% of Indians who give a shit.Comment

You keep skipping the fact that a threatening personal phone call and public twitter blasts are not locker room bullying. That's my problem with what incognito did because that's the only thing we've been presented and it happened far away from the locker room.
Who takes locker room bullying to twitter and phone calls?Comment

There's still a lot of questions surrounding this story. The article gives good insight on some things but there is still a lot of lies being told.
I think it's best to just wait for Martins side of the story at this point rather than speculating more.
Pretty tired of this story....a lot of bs from a lot of people.
at least have the balls to man up an admit you were wrongComment

maybe you should have waited to begin with instead of assuming the media reports were correct. Now that its all coming out you are trying to backpedal to save face. A few of us had the common sense to see something fishy was going on here and Icognito was not the racist beast you claimed he was.
at least have the balls to man up an admit you were wrong
Martin left the team. Martin left, allegedly, because he was being bullied and couldn't take it anymore.
Richie Incognito left voicemails, text messages, and tweet that look pretty fucking bad.
Whether or not you think the voicemail was meant to be hateful or malicious doesn't fucking matter one bit. The only person who matters in this thing is Martin. How Incognito made him feel is all that matters. What you think you know or what the other players are saying about this situation doesn't fucking matter dumb shit. If whatever happened was enough to make Martin feel alienated, verbally abused, depressed, etc. then the voicemail and bullying was too far.
Martin is a pussy. He should have handled it better.
The Dolphins organization is full of morons. There is an obvious disconnect in the locker room. The coaches don't know shit, the players don't know shit, it's all a bunch of bullshit. There are too many lies and idiots surrounding this story for anyone to know exactly what went on.
I wasn't wrong about anything. Martin is going to release a statement. We can run in circles about this until he releases a statement and the investigation is over or we can wait it out.
This isn't about saving face for me. If Martin has been lying about this entire thing then I'll admit I was wrong about believing him, but it doesn't change my stance on what happened if the details were true.
Incognito is still a dumb shit. The players like him because he is a good football player so they're going to take his side over Martin. I do think there is more going on with Martin then all of this bullying shit, but whatever sent him over the edge needs to be addressed and should have been much sooner.Comment
