    thoughts on Erin Andrews?

Kevin Harlan had some harsh critisim of Erin Andrews and my understanding is she is only kept around because of her looks. I never gave her much thought until the sherman thing. But this story wont go away and I enjoyed Harlans take on her

    link to the audio
There has been plenty of criticism for Seattle Seahawks Cornerback Richard Sherman and the interview he gave Erin Andrews after the NFC Championship game, but Kevin Harlan of CBS Sports and Westwood One says the criticism is maybe being directed at the wrong person.

“I don’t know if she was unprepared, her reaction was more about her than the guy,” Harlan said. “It was very odd. If you go back and look at that interview, her reaction was more like drama queenish.”
“If Michelle Tafoya or someone like that were interviewing, I can’t help believe that she wouldn’t have asked the appropriate followup and been a little bit more composed,” Harlan added. “Whereas the gal that was asking the questions was almost like she was on a stage. It wasn’t about her, it’s all about him, and the more I think about it, the more irritated I get.”

Erin Andrews is a terrible reporter and she completely fucked up a great opportunity for a post game interview. I think Shermans post game rant was classless, but for him to be thought of of a nigger, thug, punk, whatever is completely off base. She is in part to blame for this because of her reaction to shermans rant. her scared little white girl around the scary black man has helped fuel the fire in this story.

Most probably know he had done 1 interview prior to hers. She saw this interview and saw that he did the same rant for them. So it shouldnt have been a surprise. But then, before she did her interview she got this from Sherman

I thought it was a given that she was posing for the cameras. There was nothing genuine about her reactions and it was very auditiony. But that's status quo for most sideline reporters who are useless women or quirky former players.
Best reason to have a license.

She was interviewing a football player, kind of silly to expect her to be professional around someone who assaults other people for a living.

Fearful.. Erin's reflex there should have been to pull out a sandwich board and start going to work to attempt to defuse the situation.

Interviews are all about entertainment and I was entertained. She's more popular now than she was before the interview, she's clearly the smartest girl in the business.

Have more of an issue with her post-World Series interviews than I did the Sherman one, but live interviews clearly are not her strong suit. I think she's a diligent reporter, I wouldn't question her preparedness, but she does seem to get overwhelmed by the moment and lose her composure a bit in these situations.

There's a reason ESPN didn't think she was worth the money, she's not particularly good at what she does. I've noticed it more since the move to Fox, a lot of flubbed words and awkward mic exchanges. She'll continue to exist in this realm because of her popularity, but I don't think she did anything wrong during the Sherman interview.

First of all, Erin Andrews being useless and bad at her job is not some new idea. As usual, Maynard has his finger on the pulse.

RE Sherman/Andrews: Can't bash Andrews here. The fact she saw Sherman act like a lunatic with the other reporter, then approach her with a hug & smile, tells me that she was in fact caught completely off guard by his Oscar worthy "grrrrr i'm so mad at Crabtree!!" minstrel show, because she probably figured that like a normal person he had gotten it out of his system and calmed down. And yes, I think it scared her a little, and yes, it's a perfectly acceptable reaction for a small white woman to be scared of a screaming lunatic large black man who has a steroid history and is clearly unstable on some level.

Andrews stinks and even FOX knows that, as usually they hide her behind a desk on pregame shows that nobody watches. But they outbid themselves and paid her a lot of money, so like an overpaid QB or right fielder, they are going to keep trotting her out there now & then in a big spot to justify her salary. Think: Rick Reilly and the dead contract ESPN gave him.

Are any women sports reporters "good". I never pay attention to what any of them say. I do remember that chick on the Red Sox that was super hot.

She's not really "small" either. Not that it matters, but she's 5`10.
