actually this is the dumbest thing he could have done.

America embraced a 5th rate QB in the pro's because he was an all American, college football great/Heisman winning, God fearing, well spoken kid with morals. He hardly played a lick and made the league millions in jersey sales.

if this Sam guy happens to be any good no one will care. No one or not enough to matter will buy his jersey. No parents will get their kids his Fathead for their wall. His only hope is be just good enough to play and in 4 years he'll be gone so he can publish his book about being gay in the NFL which no one will buy

It's already a story. It will be a story. He will be the first openly gay NFL player, how is that not a story?

Eight NFL executives and coaches anticipate a "significant" draft-day plunge for Missouri OLB Michael Sam after revealing that he is homosexual.

The execs and coaches believe NFL locker rooms are "not prepared to deal with an openly gay player," and decision makers fear a "publicity circus" for the team that selects Sam. "At this point in time it's still a man's man game," said one player personnel assistant. "To call somebody a [gay slur] is still so commonplace." Rotoworld draft maven Josh Norris believes Sam has fourth- to seventh-round tape. "I just know with this going on this is going to drop him down," added one veteran scout. "There's no question about it. It's human nature. Do you want to be the team to quote-unquote 'break that barrier?'"

Anonymous GMs are out in force talking to reporters about how little they think of #MichaelSam as a prospect. Curious, no?

He'll drop to the 49ers and have an All-Pro career along with his buddy Aldon Smith. Win/Win.

As a Jets fan, I want no part of any player bringing a huge storyline to the team. Tebow has ruined it for everyone.

So the reason you're mad is that the ****** is going to hack it in the NFL a year longer than Jesus Boy?

Same deal for climate change, the only people against it are those who didn't agree with the findings against tobacco in the 60s.
When did Warner become a homophobe?

seriously people wake the heck up. A Group of people want special rights and privileges because they have anal sex.
They want the right to marry. That's not special rights, that's equal rights. Our Govt. currently legislates lifestyle in most states, which by definition legislates oppression. I'm OK with religions defining morality and marriage for it's followers, but that should stay out of Govt. Whether someone believes in same sex marriage or not, the Fed Govt. should not allow legislating oppression. Our Govt should not be in the business of oppressing.

When gays/lesbians have equal rights, then your statement may hold some merit.

If that happens, and he produces, this quickly dies down. And it's only a matter of time before the flood gates open and more and more players come out, making this a non-story.
I think Green Bay would be a good place for him going by your post. Small town away from the major media. Strong leadership from GM down through the coaching staff, with a good locker room.

Plus we need a pass rusher.

guess what, you can tolerate people and still disagree with their lifestyle.
I'm OK with people disagreeing, as long as it's a tactful, respectful disagreement while we recognize that others opinions on lifestyle are not any more right or wrong than our own opinions and as long as we don't oppress others with different opinions on lifestyle.

It's not your disagreeing that I have a problem with. It's how you're opinions cross over into oppression that does.

                                who cares......
everybody here knows somebody that is gay.
                                family, friend or co-worker.

it shouldnt bother most people in the nfl; owners to coaches to players.
they care about; if he can play and produce.
you are crazy if you think there arent gays now in the NFL.
