Why is one form of cheating any more serious than another?

    It's all cheating.

    Awesome logic.

Who is New England going to draft in the first next year?

Cheating is cheating and they should all be considered the same. That's my earlier point... the NFL is making this a harsher punishment on Brady than any other first time incident (on the field).

Some of you must have grown up in some very strange homes.
Discipline ,repeat offenses , integrity. None of these things seem to have any meaning to you. If you're still stuck on PSI and past steroid users you simply don't comprehend what this story is actually about.
Best reason to have a license.

I do not believe that Brady and the Patriots organization are being punished solely because the balls were found to be under inflated.

Nowhere in the NFL's guidelines for this offense says 1st time offenders get treated w/kid gloves.

No. It shouldn't. Illegal substances are covered by the collective bargaining agreement & have their penalties set in stone. What Brady & the Pats did is not.

What is this story actually about? I'm incredibly intrigued.

So what should the penalty be?

As I said before, the punishment should make the reward not worth the risk. I would have suspended Brady for the year, especially after all the lying done beforehand. That would be w/the expectation that it would get cut in half on appeal. As it is now, Brady doesn't think it taints the trophy they won. In other words, he'd do it again. It was worth it. Four games is still not enough.
