I think people still forget MMA is not like boxing, guys lose, not like boxing where all the top guys are undefeated or only have 1 loss, thats what makes guys like randy still great, he is 16-9 or something, 'awful' record in boxing terms, but MMA is like K1 where the top guys fight each other alot, so there will be some losses

thats what makes fedor great, he does both, Machida is on that path, but in that division I can see himing taking a couple L's

rampage, shogun even a gritty forrest can put a lose on a top guy quick

if rashad actually did some wrestling again I can see him grinding out a win against Machida

I'm not trying to compare the two at all. The only point I'm making there is that him being the champ in a tough division can't be the sole basis of your argument. You feel Evans is top 5 P4P even before the Machida fight?

LOL @ Suga being overrated. Please.

He did get rocked though...open mouth, several shots...we'll see how he comes back in the next fight. Suga never had to come back after a loss before...so, we'll see.

Can't wait for Machida to be overrated after a loss in a division where its nearly impossible to keep a streak going because of all of the talent in the division.

Who? Tito Ortiz? Sodkoujou? Id say its arguable that Machida wasnt trying to finish Tito with strikes, or it might've been done earlier. I think Macida got tired of hearing how boring he is and decided to show the world that it was just a tactical way of fighting, and that in reality hes far, far from boring. I mean Machida has gone the distance with fighters like David Heath and Sam Hoger.. surely you dont think either is better than Rashad Evans, or even Thiago Silva for that matter.

I think Thiago Silva > Rashad.

Your knock on Rashad is that he hasnt beaten stiff competition but you think Silva, whos toughest opponent outside of Machida was James Irvin, is better? Please explain. Are you sure you're not just biased against Rashad who you've already admitted you dislike?

No I don't think they are better than Rashad. The point I was making is that other people have given Machida a better fight, and Rashad just got his ass handed to him like he shouldn't have even been in the octagon. IMO, he was a bit overrated coming into the fight.

That is probably a fight that will be coming up soon, so we'll see how good that prediction is.

If Silva gets past Jardine at 102, Evans v. Silva should be the fight for each after, IMO.

I dont even think its fair to say they put up better performances, maybe Tito did.. but Machida was being cautious in that fight as it was his first big time UFC bout. Like I said.. he got tired of ppl saying he couldnt finish.. so he started finishing dudes. Rashad wanted to trade and strike but Machida is too elusive, it was inevitable that Rashad was going to be the one that got rocked. I still wish Shad would've tried to work him on top a little bit but what can ya do? Shad should've stuck to Greg Jackson's game plan.. which im sure didnt endorse trying to trade with him.

I'm not talking about p4p rankings here. I'm saying that if they fight, Silva will beat him.

Rashad would have a very hard time getting Machida down.

I think Rashad would be too fast for Silva, but it remains to be seen. We'll probably get to see the fight down the road tho so we'll find out.

Trying and failing is better than not trying at all tho.

Not if it puts you in a bad spot.

I dont think it could've got much worse for Shad.
