I enjoyed every fight on the Strikeforce card, and I thought the Carano/Cyborg fight was full of action and was very exciting, with a great atmosphere. This show blew away 101.

Carano/Cyborg was a spectacle. I'm not a mma snob, I can get into these spectacles, I like freakshow fights, and I don't mind a bunch of quick KO's or lopsided fights. As long as it's exciting, I can get into it.

Same reason I like watching Kimbo. It's fun. I don't need Damian Maia vs. Nathan Marquart all the time.

I think poeple really have a problem when comparing a non UFC event to a UFC event and a PPV gto a Non PPV, also, for what this card was supposed to be they pulled off what they could for stuff that was out of there control

of course everyone would have loved to see this card

      Gina/Cyborg
      Melendez/Thomson
      Overeem/Wedum
      Diaz/Riggs

but it didnt happen, good thing they got Mousasi/Babalu added and found Ishida

if the strikeforce card stayed as originally planed with Overeem, Diaz and Riggs i think most everyone would be signing a different tune. its unfortunate those guys werent on the card and they were really missed in what turned out to be a less than stellar card. the ufc has a huge talent pool and if guys pull out of fights they can most of the time find a suitable opponent and not miss a beat, the same cant really be said about strikeforce. i think gina losing hurts strikeforce cause she is such a lovable fighter and easy to root for, cyborg doesnt speak english and just doesnt have the same appeal as carano. there are a lot of great women fighters out there and a rematch will certainly be in the works so gina losing isnt that bad, but its tough when one of your top dogs go down. cant really comment on the production and whatnot cause i missed the event and had to catch the fights online though i for one cannot stand mauro and i agree that 3 people in the booth is too many. strikeforce is a great organization with great fighters and they got mother fuckin fedor so i expect a lot better cards in the future

I think Gina losing can actually work in Strikeforces favor in terms of a rematch, because now she will be viewed as the underdog in the casual fans eyes, and the heel/face dynamic works much better when the face is the underdog.

You have the evil, foreign, ugly, man looking, seemingly unbeatable CYBORG, and the pretty, personable, american, overmatched beauty queen.

          There is money in that.

I jumped up when Mousasi Zulu'd Babalu, thought it was great, glad Mousasi did that on a big stage

Gil/Ishida was a good fight, Gil really changed his gameplan from the first fight, not sure how many people even watched there first so that probably took away a lot for most people

Gina/Cyborg was sloppy but good, interesting fight and Cyborg brought it

            Werdum/Kyle was a squash match

Yeap, this fight was Rocky/Clubber Lang 1, they can really sell this rematch if Gina gets takes MMA a little more serious

They built up Werdum for Fedor, Melendez/Ishida had a great strategical fight for the hardcores, you had the highlight KO, and the women's fight was exciting bell to bell.

The show had a little bit of everything, it wasnt an all time great show or anything, but it was a fun little show. People are hard to please.

yeah, my same thoughts on Werdum, they better have him fight Fedor next, looks like the Ricco thing was shot down which is a good thing IMO

Also Brett is talking smack about Overeem

id much rather seem Rogers or Overeem against Fedor, Werdum is just going to get fucking wrecked. i guess are far as "marketing" goes it makes sense but as a fight fan thats the last fight i want to see.

of course, but strikeforce cant do things the UFC does, they have to gamble on build up fights, UFC fights are usually win/lesser win

Fedor/Werdum would end in brutal fashion and make a nice hype fight

with the UFC buying Pride, I believe the only Fedor footage they have is AA, Tim, HMC and Linland

The only thing i disliked about the card was the lack of undercards...SF had until 12:30ct on Showtime, but it ended at around 11:30...so there was an hour of time still left to show.

You guys keep bringing this up but I'm not sure what it has to do with anything that we're talking about. Future marketing potential has 0 to do with the entertainment level of the event. A good fight is a good fight and that's all it comes down to when grading an event.

The card sucked but it wasn't their fault. They had an awesome card put together to begin with, shit fell apart. At least they didn't cancel the show and fold.

lol @ Gina getting absolutely mauled like Cyborg was a fuckin Kodiak bear and she was a steak.

I'm not a big fan of Gus Johnson in an MMA setting, tbh.
