Gina out drew Kimbo on Showtime

Not only that, but the cost for the SF event was around a dollar, but it still couldn't beat even an average PPV from the UFC which costs 4000% more than the SF did. Add in the fact that it also had 4 title bouts and a big draw in Gina Carano and those numbers weren't good, they were terrible.Comment

Those numbers are great and Kimbo's 511,000 viewers on Showtime is one of the big reasons that CBS put MMA in Primetime and Kimbo as the headliner
Also, Showtime just doesnt go off ratings, they go off subscribers also because it is a premium channel
Anyone breaking down these numbers says they are great, I dont know how someone could say they were terribleLiquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

Price
UFC: $44.99
SF: ~$1, depending on deals and whether or not you canceled the service immediately.
Buys
UFC: ~800,000, but no exact numbers yet
SF: 576,00
Title Fights
UFC: 1
SF: 4
Hmm... so lets see, SF did 4 times the title fights at 2% of the price and wasn't even able to beat UFC 101. But Rob, keep on sucking SF's dick, cause after all, you are fair an unbiased.Comment

Lets see, UFC 101 (which hard an ok card) vs SF (which had 4 title bouts):

what does UFC 101 have to do with this? The article is showing the numbers for that night, this thread was mainly for Gina's numbers against Kimbo's, the UFC was mentioned in the article that I didnt write because they did the 'counter programming', not Strikeforce
Also, there were only 3 title fights, but that really doesnt matter and doesnt have anything to do with this threadLiquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

The article had the UFC numbers because they counter programmed, I added other quotes to show a different side of the numbers because you cant just look at 2 mill vs 500k and tell the whole story
I still dont see the reason for insulting me, but whateverLiquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

Lmao @ saying the thread is about Gina vs Kimbo but blatantly trying to point out the SF VS UFC 101 comparison, then getting defensive when Jeremy talks about EXACTLY that. You are in over your head sometimes old man..Comment

So, again you're comparing a card with half the marketing $$ of the UFC that's broadcast on a premium network. It's going to be hard to draw everyone in under those circumstances and everything the card went through, and afterall many UFC fans would rather watch TUF than good fights in other orgs. So, all that said these numbers are pretty good.Comment

Here are my quotes in this thread
I think the numbers are interesting, I cant remember, but I dont think the UFC counter programmed really against Kimbo/Tank, I believe they ran a Chuck special if my memory is correct
Kimbo averaged like 511,000 with no real counter programming
Gina did 576,000 up against the UFC's rerun of there biggest show ever
Frank vs Diaz did 364,000 against a rerun of UFC 94
Gina is a bigger casual fan draw than Frank, but Frank gets about 2,000 more to come to the Shark Tank and watch in San JoseI made the title, I wanted to show that Gina out drew Kimbo/Tank on Showtime
lol @ those numbers weren't good, those numbers were excellent and the highest Showtime has ever done
Of course it was a rerun, but this was the 'counter programming' that the UFC did, its the total picture I was looking atThose numbers are great and Kimbo's 511,000 viewers on Showtime is one of the big reasons that CBS put MMA in Primetime and Kimbo as the headliner
