I also don't think that they strip Ovechkin of the captaincy. They have invested too much in him to pull off a move like that, regardless of whether or not it is a good idea or the right thing to do.
When I say Boudreau needs to go I don't mean imminently. Well, I do but the Capitals can bide their time looking for a suitable replacement. There are plenty of coaches out there to be found and I do believe McPhee is the type of man who can find the best one. Boudreau will be hired somewhere else for sure because he's a good coach.

You can spin the captaincy thing all kind of ways to prevent Ovechkin from being a cunt about it. Thee bottom line is he will always show up to hit people and score goals but if he ever does touch the Cup it will be as the second or third pair of hands on it ala Evgeni playoff MVP Malkin.

Getting rid of the captaincy on Ovi should of been the first thing they did.

I honestly am not sure if ditching the coach is a good idea but at this point he either keeps up with the hard nose stuff and hope for the better or ride the season out and if they don't make the playoffs he'll go down in a batch of flames to the unemployment line.

I have utmost confidence in McPhee. He has rebuilt this team very well since Leonsis became hands off and has made some great decisions, and he even found Boudreau. The problem is that, even if you get rid of Semin to put the other guys on "notice," is there a good coach in the league who would take this job knowing that the locker room is going to be a bitch to control?

Even if we make the playoffs, Boudreau is gone unless they get into the Eastern Conference finals. No way would they keep him around if he repeats the performance of previous post-seasons.

Kirk Muller is the first one off the top of my head.

On the leafs pregame show here they were talking about Dale Hunter coming from the London Knights to coach them. He's a pretty straight forward coach who wouldn't take much shit.

Hunter's status to the Caps and their fans is almost as a legend. He would be one of the few who could handle the Caps and have the backing of fans and management to do what is necessary.

Yah thats why they are trying to put two and two together.

Hunter and the London Knights though would be difficult to break up.

Bryan Murray basically called out the entire pengiuns organization for the whole foligno incident.

Said the next time they play the pens that he guesses he'll have to have Carkner, Neil and may call up a couple guys from the AHL so they can run the pens goalie all day and crosscheck people when they are in their own crease since it seems to be have deemed legal and there will be no calls from the refs for it and no action from the nhl.

Shanaban getting called out too is hilarious. No one knows whats legal and whats not haha.

Christ I wish Reimer would come back. That would of been an easy win with a goaltender not looking like a deer caught in headlights.

They outplayed the bruins so bad it pisses me off that gustovsan plays like a piece of shit.

I think the Laughs will make the playoffs this year. Final day schennanigans.

If I can answer your question as leaffan may, he will accept the Leafs aren't that good when you accept the Bruins Cup win was a total fluke.
