This is possibly the greatest unanswered question of our time. My guess would be racism against the thread starter, the mods of this section are particularly racist.

I'm thinkin about starting an early tradecenter 2010 thread because it looks like a lot of teams are going to start dealing before the trade deadline.

Kings are the big players in the Kovalchuk sweepstakes.

Rangers want a backup goalie just in case King Lundqvist is hurt.

Toronto is trying to ship their shitty players but no one wants them so lol.

Well I think the NHL is doing things right. Just read about how much parity there is in the league right now. Some quick notes:

Only 4 teams in the whole league are more then 5 points out of a playoff spot.
11 Teams currently have either 54 or 55 points.
And the most eye opening one is in the Eastern Conference only 1 point separates 6th from 12th.

Losing just one game in november or december could mean your playoff life. All they need now is get some tv deals back and the regrowth of the NHL will continue.

I mentioned that a while ago. Kovy to LA. It's such a perfect pit. They'd be a dominate force for the next 5+ years with that addition.

Only problem is that the Thrashers want players that can play NOW and LA shouldn't be giving those up. They can easily part with prospects/picks however.

Apparantly LA's goalie talent is so deep they have like 6 goalie prospects all lined up.

I'd have a feeling to Frolov would be part of that because they've been wanting to get rid of him for a while.

The asking price right now is 4 or 5 good players.

Examples given were one 20 to 30 goal scorer, a couple first line prospects and draft picks (at least one first round).

They want this done before the trade freeze on the 12th too only because they are worried if he doesn't finish either 1 or 2 on russia's team in scoring his value will go down. An injury would screw them too.

Ouch for the Oilers. They were going to trade him for sure. Cammy being out in Montreal all but screws them for a playoff spot unless someone steps up. They pretty much have to decide now if they want to keep rolling with Halak/Price and do the ride the hot goaltender thing or trade Halak for some goal scoring.
