Lol, are you not reading any of this? If Pettis losses hes not gonna get his chance, atleast not without having to do all this all over again. He already did what he had to do to get his chance. Of course hes not gonna cry, hes a young, company guy.. but he knows the opportunity hes potentially losing out on. You guys dont appreciate that he may never get this chance again.. you can say "oh if Guida beats him he wasnt truly deserving", and that may indeed be the truth, but anything can happen in a fight, when given a chance, especially for a title. So his chance may potentially be taken away, even if he is indeed inferior to the competition. Its not right.. if you dont feel for Anthony in this situation you're just a douche or a zombie.

Sad fact is, right now, Edgar/Pettis does shit business. The UFC audience has no clue who the kid is despite his run in the mainstream off the kick. Give the kid a fight, let him introduce himself to the new audience and then they may have something.

They can push the hell out of the trilogy factor, legit fight of the year candidate of a rematch, all that jazz.

Sure it sucks for the guy that the title shot isn't his...so what? Edgar/Maynard 3 is the better fight.

don't be mad, like primetime said, we're getting a couple of great fights here.

That is bullshit. They could sell the hell out of Pettis/Edgar, by replaying that clip in the hype a million times. If you dont think the iron is hot with Pettis right now you're insane. MAINSTREAM MEDIA was putting that kick in its top plays of the year.. showing that shit like its going out of style. The UFC could sell Pettis/Edgar EASILY right now, especially when its a title unification match.

Lol @ "so what". Thats the Zombie attitude at its best.

Pettis/Edgar was the great fight we should've got. You still dont get it.

Like I said, I feel for Pettis, I really do. LOL at asking me if I read any of this when I clearly stated that a few posts ago. This opportunity for Maynard/Edgar 3 is too good to pass up for the UFC. This fight also shits on a Edgar/Pettis fight from a business standpoint. Pettis is a young kid and when I said he'll get his chance, I mean throughout his career. He should beat Guida, and if he doesn't than tough luck kid. He deserves a title shot, but so does Maynard, and so does Miller for that matter.

I don't understand you. You say Pettis is likely a bum fighter (in that he won't be able to stick with the top UFC 155ers) and yet you're hurt you are not guaranteed an Edgar/Pettis fight.

Pettis will be fine. 2 great fights

Maynard already GOT a title shot.. and he didnt win. Pettis EARNED a title shot in a number one contender (unification) fight. Its Gray that should be waiting and fighting a Jim Miller or Clay Guida, not Anthony. Gray has a better chance then Anthony at maintaining a top spot in the division, everyone knows that, especially Dana. Dana has no respect for Pettis or he wouldnt have put him in this situation.

Lol @ me calling Pettis a bum, dont put words in my mouth like Dana puts his dick in yours.

Im hurt for Pettis, not for not getting to see the match-up. Its just more dirty business by Zuffa, they do a ton of it.

So what your saying is that the better fighter is getting the title shot. I'm good with that. Funny thing is, Pettis is easily one of my top 5 favorite fighters and I could really give 2 shits about Maynard and Edgar.

You do realize that Edgar/Maynard 2 was an amazing fight and had everyone talking...it's not like they're pushing Pettis to the side to have Edgar fight Marcus Davis.

You're not giving Pettis enough credit.

You keep talking as if Pettis will be cut after he's dominated by Guida.

                        Give the kid credit.

Then why say Pettis/BenHen is gonna get the Champ @ all? There is gonna be no belt unification now. So basically Dana is saying the belt has no value, because any other time the UFC has had 2 champions in the same division theres been a unification fight. No respect for Pettis or the WEC lightweight belt and division.

                              Wrong.

Steve Cantwell & Carlos Condit both came into the UFC having been the final WEC champions at 205 and 170, respectively. iDid they get immediate unification bouts?

There is no way they could have seen this coming. When is the last time there has been a draw in the UFC, let alone in the championship fight? No one could foresee this happening and the UFC made the best move for business. We're still getting two great fights, nothing for fans to be pissed about. I'm very happy Pettis is getting to fight against Guida. That's an awesome fight to watch and a whole lot of energy inside the octagon.
