Superpippo still has some gas in the tank, he showed it during the WFC, but he isn't getting any younger. Also, Borriello (who stupidly took Kaka's 22) looked lost on the pitch whenever he played. Signing Rossi would help ensure our front line stay's intact for quite some time.

PS- Dinho and the Dutchman showed some pretty good chemistry together. Looks like 'Dorf still has it.

You're the first to mention Borriello. He'll be good at a smaller club, but he's not good enough for AC.

Ronaldinho and Seedorf are more of an attacking midfield pairing than a front 2. Of course Seedorf still has talent and he's stupidly fit for his age, and playing in a league that doesn't rely entirely on pace.

Pippo and Pato could be rotated if Silvio didn't make the team play with two forwards.

Friendlies?

They never played their full starting XI in any match. Kalac was the goaltender, but the starting job belongs to Abbiati. Also, they played A LOT of young players: Abate, Zigoni, etc. Gooch played a lot, with the intention of pleasing American fans and also forming some chemistry with his teammates.

I'm not worried about our team, we didn't play all that bad, all things considered. We just need to bolster our squad with someone to play above Pato and on either side of the Nesta-Silva CB duo.

Teams would probably prefer to look shit in friendlies than in competitive games.

I've actually been to see a friendly a few years ago between Ajax (big in Europe at the time) vs Derby County (bottom of the Championship that season). It ended 2-2. I bet the same would have happened if the game had counted.

I'd agree with that choice of formation for Milan, but relegate Jankulovski to backup role. Oddo at right back, Zambrotta at left back. Flamini on the right of the three midfield players, Gattuso on the left and Pirlo in the middle. Ambrosini is only good at heading and sliding challenges - not enough for me. Seedorf/Ronaldinho in attacking midfield with Pippo up front alone (personal choice, obviously he and Pato would need rotation).
