Prime Time Players on TV again tonight? Best career move of Darren Young's life.

One of the most awkward & embarrassing things i've ever seen. Awkward for TJP, who has to act all humble & exasperated in joy & overwhelmed (and pretend he's still homeless), and embarrassing for Dixie & TNA, who HAVE A CHAMPION WHO WAS NOT UNDER CONTRACT and for some reason are admitting this in public. Even if this is just part of the rags to riches TJP storyline, it's still embarrassing. Why would you even want a kayfabe storyline of not having a champion under contract?

It would have been beyond awesome if he went to the WWE and would have him cash in the X-Division belt for a shot at one of the world titles.

                I saw this earlier...

It is one of the weirder wrestling videos I've seen. It just makes no sense to advertise this. Perhaps "hey, we're firing a ton of people, but also hiring a few, too" kind of thing?

                I don't know, super weird.

                  Do it Medusa-style.*

*I say this because while Shane Douglas' NWA stunt may have had more significance, fuck that guy.

So it's fairly obvious WWE is pushing Darren Young, without mentioning the "G" word, hoping people care and get behind him (no pun intended...seriously).

If he doesn't get over, how long before they cave and go full uncouth with Zeb Coulter resorting to gay bashing?

I know how WWE is, but remember the whole conservative backlash with Glenn Beck and other groups with the creation of Zeb? It would be double that if they went into gay bashing. No way do they do it.

If he's getting a push based on being gay, why NOT mention it? Going with the buzz seemed to work for Edge/Hardy...

I think they want the people to get behind him for it without overtly pushing the fact.

What they are missing I think, and why he won't get over simply for coming out, is that people don't really care. I think most people gave a collective shoulder shrug when they found out. "Oh, hes gay? Ok. Cool, I guess. Am I supposed to care about his love life?"

Wrestling is still viewed as low-brow, so they could probably get away with a little homophobia, moreso than outright gay bashing. The problem is the fear of gay rights groups making waves that the sponsors make note of. Which is funny, because the same sponsors would love to endorse a product that made light of Punk's dad's alcoholism or exploited the shit out of Eddie, but they'd stop in their tracks if Zeb called Young a sissy.
