Paul, once again, shows his genius.

Truer words have never been spoken.

NXT was awesome this week and it hardly had anything to do with the girls. Best episode ever.

CM Punk + Michael Cole on commentary = GOLD. So many quotables.

Rey Mysterio Jr & Chris Jericho elected to Wrestling Observer HOF.

Jericho iis deserving, I'm on the fence about Rey.

Rey's early work to his ECW days, WCW while skipping the "Filthy Animals" phase and then up until he got the Big Gold Belt.

Anything I skipped or after he got the title is a wash.

Rey was a guarantee so why not now?

Because I'm not positive I see him at that level.

I'm also bafffled at Kensuke Sasaki failing to get in, and actually losing support.

Sasaki headlined the Tokyo Dome at the peak of New Japan, and still headlines wherever he goes to this day. His work is top notch. I don't get it.

Dave is only one vote, though.

                    Headline as a single? Check.

Headliner as a tag team? With both Hase and Hawk, double check.

                    Great worker? Check.

                    Star during hot period? Check.

One of two men (along with melty face Takayama) to hold the IWGP, GHC, and Triple Crown.

Still going strong today, headlining everywhere he goes. All of those big New Japan stars from the 90's are in. I don't get it.

Okay, I didn't know the other New Japan guys were in too, I wasn't sure if it was bias towards those guys or whatever.

That is a bit odd. Especially considering Mysterio went above him.

                            *******

Kensuke Sasaki, who tied with The Assassins in missing by three votes last year, fell out of contention this year. I can’t really come up with a logical reason, because he continued to headline and had some strong main event matches. What appeared to happen is that the addition of Steve Williams took him out of the position of being in many people’s eyes the strongest Japanese name on the ballot. In fact, all of the Japanese candidates fell in this election, including Seiji Sakaguchi, Volk Han and Kiyoshi Tamura. For Han and Tamura, the latter of whom was a strong contender to get in when he first appeared on the ballot, what is killing them is that their style of wrestling is gone and each year that goes by, they are remembered less and less.

Current wrestlers & reporters think Sasake belongs, old timers & historians don't. This leads me to believe he will get in eventually, as the old timers die, & the current wrestlers become former wrestlers. He missed by 3% last year.
