The announcement of Brock Lesnar's inclusion in THQ's latest pro wrestling offering WWE '12 has been the talk of the wrestling world over the past week. WWE has a storied history of video games dating back to 1987's MicroLeague Wrestling on the Amiga and Commodore 64.

MicroLeague was a largely simulation, turn-based strategy based game it was the first game to carry the WWE license. Players chose a move from their wrestler's move set and depending on the situation, either yours or the opponents move will be successful.

MicroLeague is actually a stellar game for its time featuring ring introductions, interview segments with Mean Gene Okerlund and text commentary throughout the match.

MicroLeague set the standard for WWE games to come. While there was a lull period, most notably most of the non-PC based home console systems, the majority of WWE games have been above average to good.

With a catalog over 49 games deep it was very difficult to trim this list to just ten games, but these are the true standouts in my mind. Of course, this list is a matter of opinion however a majority of these titles are renowned and regarded as some of the top professional wrestling and WWE games.

Ok, I finished watching this. HOLY SHIT. Easily the best show of 2011, blowing away Money in the Bank (which I loved), and one of the best big shows/PPV's I've ever seen. Even the comedy match was good, and I hate comedy matches. Even PAC was good, and I hate PAC (who, by the way, is fucking jacked now and clearly wants Vince's attention).

Hard to pick a best match, because even the opener was great, with a fun story of the fiery rookie trying to overcome a beating from the heel veterans.

Can't wait to hear what you guys think.

I used to play the bejesus out of WM2000. My friend had Revenge, and we just switched back and forth between the two all the time. I remember liking Revenge more but it could be because I was more a WCW fan. But the game I most enjoyed was the old WWF King of the Ring on Gameboy. There weren't many wrestlers, and I think it was pretty hard for what it was. But having those shitty GB themes as a little kid was awesome.

Only time I saw Pac was his much hyped appearance ROH Final Battle (I think) in NYC. What a terrible performance that night and I've never gone back to watch anything of his since.

Without knowing much about him, there are guys who do his style much better (Bourne, even Jack Evans when he's active).

Has he improved over the past 3+ years?

I was at that ROH match in NY, and he got booed out of the building and never invited back.

I've never been a fan. Too spotty for me (and considering I mark for spotty juniors that is saying something). He still does back flips for no reason, which annoys me.

People have been raving about him lately. The match on this show was good, but I have to see more. He doesn't look like Kenny G anymore. He looks like Kenny G on steroids.

Scott Hall shot and killed a guy? That's crazy. The fact that I'm just hearing this now is even crazier. It seems like anything associated with wrestlers that has an ounce of truth to it (and then plenty that doesn't) is plastered everywhere on the net.

And ohhh TNA, you just don't know what you wanna do. I remember people like W2B telling me that pre-09 TNA was garbage. THIS is garbage. It wasn't good, but it wasn't this bad.

That Scott Hall E60 was a tough watch. That guy is at the very bottom.

Watching him in that match all messed up was one of those moments where you get embarrassed watching it and no one is in the room.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

                                "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.
