Watching this match, I can't help but think this would have been awesome as the main event of Raw 1000. Instead of setting up matches months later with Cena and Punk and Rock, there should have been a champion vs champion match then, with the lumberjacks being a mix of legends and current guys.

      Vince don't care though.
Writers didn't help because they aren't developing people. This is like a football team losing a starting player. Whether that guy is good or bad, the team is now only as good as the guy(s) behind the starter.

Punk trolling with the fake Macho Man Elbow.

        I'm a fan.

I brought this up on the podcast, but we really don't know what goes on in these creative meetings. These guys might pitch cool, new, exciting shit all of the time, but at the end of the day, what Vince says goes.

As we saw with the CM Punk/Lashley thing that got Heyman fired years ago, Vince is a very stubborn man, unaccepting of things he doesn't "get".

By the way, where is Lashley now, and where is Punk?

Vince is the dumbest accidental millionaire of all time.

I agree with your last statement, and you are also right about Vince having final say. Also throwing this out there- apparently he consulted Heyman behind closed doors on some creative things. Not sure how well that went over with H's and Stephanie though, or how serious it was.

Is this 1992? Mason Ryan looks like he dropped 80 pounds of muscle.

Punk's selling about an 11 on the Ziggler scale with that double chokelift powerbomb from Ryback.

Thought he died for a minute.

...I might need to see this PPV after all.

Not going to lie, that was a vicious powerbomb by Ryback

Anyone else notice how everytime they showed Big Show, he was looking over at Heyman with a smirk on his face. Big Show makes a lot of sense as an ally of Punk at this point since neither guy gets the respect they deserve. It also helps that they've moved Big Show out of the WWE title picture allowing them to pretend the last few months never happened

Also, I wonder why they chose Antonio Cesaro and Jinder Mahal to be the guys to bust in and eat Brogue Kicks. Wouldn't it have made more sense to see Ziggler or Del Rio try to jump into the ring to attack Sheamus?

                        Jobbers.

Plus it'd cool the heat they just got during the night from beating Danielson and Ryder.

Cesaro's still reeling from eating a loss and nobody gives two fucks about Mahal or his 3MB.

I mean seriously, this show represented and embodied everything wrong with this company. This was a go home show for the PPV coming up. And instead they focused on AJ Lee more than any match or storyline throughout the entire show. A character that drives 0 buyrates, 0 merchandise sales, and 0 house show revenue. I guess they like cancer, because they're openly feeding it.

Maybe the WWE will actually use something from their history in a storyline, since Heyman turned heel on RVD a few years ago and helped Big Show win the ECW title, and it would make sense to have Show be a "Paul Heyman guy". Could be a cool deal, they can show the old footage, give a backstory to the connection...

But since that happened longer than one PPV cycle ago, it never happened. This is the same company that pretended Triple H never wrestled Undertaker at WrestleMania.

                                It'd also set up a Survivor Series of Punk/Big Show/Ziggler against Cena/Ryback/Sheamus
