I used to think wrestling could never go under. Now, I’m not so sure. Monday’s WWE Raw was a PPV “go-home” show, the last before Sunday’s Survivor Series. “Go-home” shows usually have extra juice by way of trying to, you know, SELL THE PRODUCT. No such luck. Monday’s Raw was PUTRID, shocking in its abject […]

CM Punk/Heyman mocking Lawler's heart attack on RAW was incredibly tasteless. I felt icky for sitting through that.

The ENTIRE segment with the exception of Lawler's words was an abomination. It's another example in the same vane as Melanie Pillman the night after her husband's death and everything that happened after Eddie's death about what kind of person Vince McMahon can be. And even if there was a writer or two or whoever who could have tried to talk him out of it, he really believes this kind of attempt at cheap heat is useful and productive.

            What a jerk.

This shows you that if Owen Hart survived the fall, Vince would have found a way to make it an angle and use the footage on television.

            What a scumbag.

And the thing is, Punk doesn't need that kind of cheap heat. If he and Heyman can't get more heat other than that, something is wrong

                That segment lost 800k viewers.

It reminded me of some of the shit Fritz Von Erich pulled, including faking a heart attack after David Von Erich died and drawing money off of it. Also, selling thousands of autographed 8X10's of David that were signed by office staff long after David was dead. They squeezed every dollar out of that kid's death.

At the end of the day though, if Lawler was ok with it, I don't take issue. Lawler is an old school carny who probably doesn't give a shit. He doesn't take this stuff seriously, it's just a silly business to him.

It is exactly this kind of programming that prevented her from becoming a Senator. Wrestling should have some limits and boundaries. If you offend great portions of the audience, it is a bad angle.”

I kept typing "Marco Corleone" & "Mark Jindrak" and wondering why it wouldn't accept either response.

Probably because it was Alex Riley. Doh.
