Reigns has a lot going for him with the higher-ups. Looks like a million bucks, has the "main event size" that I'm sure Vince, Trips, and Dunn are still all about, he's got lineage, he reminds people of the Rock in a good way, he has the legit sport association that they like. He wouldn't be Ryback. But maybe Swagger. They have really pushed the shit out of him every chance they've gotten this year. They might be jumping the gun on him, but there's all sorts of time between now and WM. That was pretty much Ryback's whole push time.

        Thoughts on this sample set...

        v. John Cena @ SummerSlam - 4.5
        v. The Undertaker @ WrestleMania - 1.5
        v. CM Punk - SummerSlam 2013 - 4.5
        v. Triple H @ Extreme Rules 2013 - 4
        v. Triple H @ WrestleMania - 2.5
        v. Triple H @ SummerSlam 2012 - 3.5
        v. John Cena - Extreme Rules 2012 - 4.5

        (numbers is stars)

I think it's hard to separate the WM match and the SS match from last night. The WM match MAKES the Summerslam beatdown. Without it, you got nothing. Yeah, it wasn't a classic by UT ' standard. But it worked well for what it was.

Yeah, but in its own bubble, the WM match was terrible. Knowing what we know after the fact, it should have been under 8 minutes with Brock dominating. The way it happened, the match was going along (sloppy, not smooth at all, though both guys were banged up during it so we know why) and then all of a sudden, Brock wins. Everything was done for the big shocking moment afterwards but everything until then was brutal.

If it's done similar to the Cena SS match, Brock comes off even more like a monster.

But whatever, thanks to the match Sunday, Brock is the unstoppable bad ass motherfucking beast. Now hopefully they can keep him that way until they figure out who should beat him (Reigns?).

IMO, Reigns being the guy to conquer Lesnar is just wrong. It's too obvious ... and too scripted. Hell, at the Bella Twins level.

Reigns' time will come, but if it's over Lesnar at Wrestlemania, it's just too obvious.

Not sure who faces Lesnar at Wrestlemania, but if it's Reigns, it's too early and too obvious.

Reigns has to be the guy. They got nobody else. Bryan is already made, and a question mark health-wise. Who else ya got? Ambrose is the only other option. Wyatt would be a bad move. I love Rollins, but nobody buys that. Cesaro is already de-pushed. Reigns is the guy. Ambrose is a plan B.

The SS match in the context without the Streak momentum is not NEARY as good a match. Let's be honest. Neither one is a great match in a standalone. But given the circumstances, the SS match was amazing in large part BECAUSE of what happened at WM.

How about this? It's no one. Lesnar wins at Wrestlemania.

You don't have a part-time older wrestler come in, be made to look dominant by top stars, and then NOT have him give somebody that rub and momentum. That's like the one time where the predictable option HAS to happen. Like Bryan winning at WM this year. You could pass on that route, but you lose all the steam you had going in.

He's a MONSTER HEEL, Dave. He has to lose on the big stage.

                          Daniel Bryan.
                          Dean Ambrose
                          Rusev

Should all get the Brock rub before Reigns.

By Wrestlemania he could be so respected he's not actually a heel.

                            Going by Larry's list:

Rusev - sorry, but Lesnar comes out All-America, even as a heel, Rusev is dead.
Dean Ambrose - terrific worker, but simply not a #1 guy in a company.
Daniel Bryan - amazing worker, but if these two got in a fight in real life, Danielson would lose 100% of the time.

It would make Ambrose. Bryan has already had his star-making moment, so I wouldn't waste the big rub on tying another jet pack on him. Rusev? He'll no. Maybe in 2 years. Reigns has been positioned for this. Like it or not, he's their guy. This is his destiny. It's going to take a lot for it not to happen. If it doesn't, like I said, Ambrose is THE guy.

Dave, what don't you like about Bryan or Ambrose? They can work their asses off, the crowd loves them to death, they're both pretty damn good on the mic. They have it all. Why wouldn't you want either of them over Brock? If Bryan hadn't already been made this WM, I'd have no problem with him getting the rub. Neither of those guys are that much smaller than Angle, who everyone bought against Brock.
