Yah, United come out looking like clowns. Fellaini is nice, but compared to the other squads I don't think it will be enough.
I'm glad arsene bought someone. I love the guy and want him in England as long as possible.
Newcastle didn't sign anyone else as far as I can tell...Comment

I'm still in shock at the Ozil deal. Wenger actually did add a genuinely world class player and he should fit in beautifully. Its the kind of signing that has not happened since I started supporting the club a decade ago. Kudos, Boss. Kudos.
Still concerned about the striker options and the overall squad depth but the addition gives me more hope. The win over Spurz helped in that regard too.Comment

It's funny, at the transfer deadline the media were falling all over themselves to praise Arsenal for their business in landing Ozil. They've since changed their tone to more of a mocking one after hearing Ozil talk of winning trophies. One world class player doesn't make up for the absurd lack of quality depth. Just ask Liverpool.
One world class player doesn't make a great squad. But it certain helps make a good squad better. The do lack quality depth, but absurd? They have 3 starting-caliber central defenders. Two solid players at each fullback position. 10 midfield/wingers, which is ignoring fringe or particularly inexperienced players. Its only up front that they are particularly light, with only one true center forward. They have a couple of other players who can play there and some young depth. But an injury to Giroud leaves them in bad shape up front. Its not really bad depth for an EPL side. Its questionable mainly because they are in the Champions League. A run of injuries will certainly leave them scrambling, but an overly large squad also poses its own problems. I would honestly probably prefer that problem, but young players aren't going to develop if they don't play, so...Comment
